Actually, should this happen, WE will likely "step in and stop the bleeding". It may come as a surprise to some folks, even here on this forum, but there are many "quiet" people out here who will die before being subjected to what is the most likely scenario should Kerry/Edwards/Clinton achieve ascendancy.
