Kerry's responses were like a fire hose of lies, half-truths and distortions. If Bush spent his time trying to unravel and counteract them, he wouldn't have had any time to say what he needed to say. Kerry employed the oldest trick in the debate book: spew out so much bullshit in an attempt to get your opponent to focus on that rather than on making his own points.

Bush didn't take the bait.

I still believe, if your record is attacked with falsehoods, half-truths and outright lies, you should defend your record. The President attempted to defend his record several times. He succeeded on several attempts, but some of his answers were weak and incoherent. Frankly, I was not pleased with the outcome of most answers the President gave tonight.
