Missed some of it. Were the borders mentioned? At all? Any faint references? Any Plan? (this has to be the year of "the plan").
FOX panel stating W lost first 2 debates, won this one, but the lst one was the most impt.
I think Bush did well on the personal. I still get so frustrated watching him. He doesn't defend conservatism the way Reagan did. He takes the hits from Kerry without hitting back. I'd say it was a tie or a slight kerry win. Listening to all that rhetoric from Kerry was painful...
And what about those questions? What an opinionated, arrogent, biased, goofball the CBS guy was! He constantly tried to trip Bush up with the hardest questions and had Democratic talking points stated as fact in his questions. I haven't read anything written in this thread yet, but as I go through it I hope you all are giving him hell for those questions. We oughta boycott, buyout, trash CBS.
All I want is a representative or a President that is a true conservative and can really get the government out of our lives. It's not that much to ask is it?
What did the other channels say right after the debate (I caught some of Fox, but got a phone call)?
McAulliff is losing it on Fox.
Did you know that John Kerry is a Catholic that supports Abortion and Gay Marriage?
Guess it depend's on what yout definition of "is" is.
It was very interesting to simply listen to these two men speak and not have any visual cues. The President came across as energetic, straightforward, slyly humorous, and surprisingly youthful. Senator Kerry has real gravitas as a speaker and a rather old-fashioned but effective oratorical style.
Simply listening, I thought that W scored a number of points for being very open and down-to-earth. When he told the story about meeting Laura or spoke of his faith, the depth of emotion was very evident in his voice. He also got what seemed to be far and away the biggest laughs of the night on his first few comments about the "strong women" in his life. Kerry never seemed to match that "openness" at any point and in fact seemed to fumble his attempt to joke about "marrying up."
Neither of them came across as at a loss for words at any point, though Kerry did seem to "um" his way into his answer about faith. They hammered away at talking points at many opportunities, which is INCREDIBLY boring when you forced to sit through them without any visuals to distract or enhance.
I call it a clean draw and thought that the President acquitted himself very well against someone who is supposed to be one of the best debaters in American politics.
bump
1. Speaking about Religion
2. Abortion
3. Saying he married 'up' better than Bush or the moderator.
Just my thoughts.

This show is nothing more than a constant commercial for the DNC. Now they going to rerun the Trudeau/Rose discussion about how putridly effete the Bush family is.
Kerry quoting scripture in the 3rd presidental debate is both sickening and funny....
It is funny because he makes a fool of himself when he tries to quote it in this case he added the word "body"...
which sounds really funny if one knows the verse...
When I heard the debate...first thing I thought of was "that's not right"
Kerry from debate:
"I was taught -- I went to a church school and I was taught that the two greatest commandments are: Love the Lord, your God, with all your mind, your body and your soul, and love your neighbor as yourself."
It should be:
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
or
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
or
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
"body" not used in this passage...This sure makes Kerry look what he really is.....really phony.
It is also sickening to listen to Kerry quote scripture... Kerry clearly does not believe that the ultimate Lawgiver has any purpose in the laws of the government. "can not impose his beliefs on others"
For every Law there is a Lawgiver. This law is written on our hearts. "in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them."
If one can write a law not to steal, not to kill innocent life, and to stop at a stop sign so as to not hurt someone (a stop sign is a moral law, we are imposing the belief we shouldn't hurt other people on others),
Mr. Kerry, why can't we write a law not to brutally dismemeber a baby piece by piece?
Thanks too all for this great thread. I didn't get to watch the debate live as I was asleep. (working tonight)
Cant wait to watch the tape in the morning. :0P
My favorite Bush quote for last night: "A litany of complaints is not a plan."
BUSH: In all due respect, I'm not so sure it's credible to quote leading news organizations about -- oh, never mind. Anyway, let me quote the Lewin report. The Lewin report is a group of folks who are not politically affiliated. They analyzed the senator's plan. It cost $1.2 trillion
