Being able to get a TS is not a Constitutional requirement for becoming president. Once you're elected (or in a position to be elected), you've obviously got a "need to know." Which is to say, again, POTUS gets his TS by default.
I did not know that. I assumed since even *I* had a clearance, someone like the Pres would need one too. Since you have to have one, or the ability to get clearance to work in any classified area of the DOD or DOJ. This is nuts.
