I felt very sorry for the Reeves family.
I still do.
I am also aware that Mr. Reeves chose to be silent regarding Terri Schiavo.
I wont fault him for that, at least he did not side against her.
He was silent on her case.
As are many.
But for all those who remain silent, I say search your mind and soul, and tell me why it is OK to medically prolong the life of a man who would have been dead years ago, if he couldnt personally afford the incredibly expensive medical eguipment that allowed him to continue to breathe, yet a woman who only needs food and water must be killed under color of law, because you judge her existance useless.
I think it better to ask people what more right Mr. Reeves had to extensive and prolonged excessive medical intervention, than Terri Schiavo has to basic comfort care.
Money was not an issue in either case.
I dont begrudge Mr. Reeves his last years.
I never wished him ill.
Why the ill wishes by many people against Terri?
The only connection I see between the two is that both suffered tremendous harm.

..."ask people what more right Mr. Reeves had to extensive and prolonged excessive medical intervention, than Terri Schiavo has to basic comfort care."

Outstanding.

I wonder if Reeve's family will now come to Terri's aid? Dana is an extraordinary woman. She realised that her husband is more than just his body. He had a right to live, and his family would enjoy him in any condition. Terri has that right too. But, her spouse doesn't want enjoy her. He wants to kill her. He wants her dead.

Reeve is fortunate that Dana didn't want him to die. His family got to love him and comfort him and live with him for 10 years. His parents were able to be with him whenever they wanted.

Terri's mind may be damaged, but she has the same rights, and her family has the same right to love and live with her for as long as she her health holds out.

Will the Reeve family help Terri and validate her life to a court, or will their dedication to a culture of death; death on demand for helpless babies; and humanbeings created as spare parts, blind them? I think so. I believe their eyes have been blinded for 10 years.

If they really cared about research, they would sink their money into research already showing promise in the use of cord blood! But, no. All we hear about is embryonic research. Because with their aristocratic mind set, they believe they are better equipt to choose who lives and who dies! They want to keep forcing on us the killing of innocent human life! They want us to have blood on OUR hands.

If they really cared about research, and thought it showed promise, they and their ultra rich admirers would FUND the stupid embryonic research themselves! They have all the money in this country! They make astronimical amounts of money, yet they want the person who works at the 7-11 to have money taken out of his check, to support an immoral act.

I am sorry, but I do not have pity for those who want to kill others to promote their political agenda. I don't.

Reeve's life represented the democrats and their ungodly demand to kill humanbeings--embryos. Sad for Terri, her life would ruin the democrats ungodly demand to kill those who don't fit their political ideology.

Have you ever heard of Joni Earekson Tada? Reeve would not even talk to her. His "compassion" had certain limits. His "tolerance" had limits, and conservative, Christian view were OUT.

I'm apalled that you think it was unfair for Christopher Reeves to be alive because equipment was needed for him to breathe. I have a personal stake in all of this...my husband is also a quadraplegic. He was in an accident very simular to Mr. Reeves and has sustained the same injuries, leaving him paralyzed from his neck down and unable to breathe on his own. When I was told of his condition from his doctor, they said he would be nothing more than a talking head. How dare they or you...think that because he cannot breathe on his own makes him any less important! His brain is completely intact and his heart and soul are the same as they were before the accident. We are not wealthy people at all, but thank GOD we have the equipment that allows him to breathe and carry on with his life as normally as possible!

And as for the people that are anti-stem cell research, you obviously don't have someone that you love that could benefit by such a wonderful thing! I am very much pro-life...I don't believe in taking lives albeit abortion, war or whatever, but I do know abortion is legal in this country, not by my choice. And I believe that as long as abortion is legal why not use stem cells from aborted fetuses that would only be discarded anyways to help improve the lives of so many other people. We're not just talking about Spinal Cord Injuries, but Alzheimers, Parkinson's, juvenile diabetes, cancer...the list goes on and on. Unfortunately, all of these have afflicted one or more of my family members and have resulted in deaths...I intend to fight for husband to live and hopefully he will be able to hold our baby again because of the advancements in stem cell research!
