When I see these Swiftees speak, I am struck by their humble and respectful manner. The demeanor of REAL war heroes.

"In more than one firefight, Kerry actually pulled our boat out of it and ran out of the canal. I don't think John Kerry was a coward," says 57-year-old Steve Gardner, from Clover, S.C., who spent more than two months with Mr. Kerry on PCF 44 as a gunner's mate 3rd class.

"I think John Kerry was an opportunist. And he was very ineffectual. He did everything in his own best interest. He was always carrying a little notebook with him. I assume it was his diaries. He was very aloof and disdainful of people under him," he said.

There you have it. Who would want to be in combat with a man whose priority is to make a movie of himself afterward as soon as he can as if he had been the hero of it?

What person who allows themselves to know the Truth, would want to be in the War on Terror, in which we all have to be participants to some degree, with a man whose priority is to pretend that he would be the hero of warring against Terror even as he undermines those who are effectively waging that war?
