I need help. My flaming lib SIL says that the proof that Bush was not in AL when he should have been is because Gary Trudeau offered 10,000 to anyone who could prove he was but there has been no takers.

Help!
Does anyone have a reference to this?

People sent Gary Trudeau info on President Bush serving in Alabama and got a form letter back saying it didn't meet his standard of proof. I think Trudeau also modified the offer as 10,000 to some goofy liberal charity, but don't quote me.

Don't jump through hoops. Tell your lib SIL to back up her accusation with proof.

End of story.

Then, after she's done sputtering and stammering, ask her if she's watched Kerry's testimony before the Senate. And for her sake assume Bush did skip out on guard duty in Alabama. Then...

1) Ask her which is worse. Skipping out on stateside duty, or committing treason and getting your colleagues tortured and killed.

2) Ask her if she also disqualified Billy Clinton for dodging the draft.

Col. Ed Morrisey, interviewed by a Knoxville TV station (ironically, the CBS affiliate):

Retired Colonel Morrisey has trained, developed and commanded lots of soldiers over a distinguished career.

He also swore in one very notable officer.

"George W. went to pilot training, seated well, being selected to be a fighter pilot, which is at the top of the line in the Air Force selection process. Came back to train in the F-102 at Ellington. He stood alert like anyone else," says Colonel Morrisey.

According to Morrisey, then-Lieutenant Bush more than fulfilled his guard requirements.

Morrisey says in the six years the President served he never failed to meet participation point requirements.

"Bush averaged 176 per year. In no year did he have less that 50," says Morrisey. "He was rated by his commander, Col. Maurice Udell in the top 5 of his pilots."

One of the criticisms leveled at the President is that he sought guard service to keep him from serving in Vietnam.

Morrisey says, "not so."

"The Air Force, in their ultimate wisdom, assembled a group of 102's and took them to Southeast Asia. Bush volunteered to go. But he needed to have 500 [flight] hours, but he only had just over 300 hours so he wasn't eligible to go,” Morrisey recalls

than ask your friend where Kerry's records are? Why wont he sing the 180 so's we can see, including his discharge papers? I've heard his 'honorable' discharge wasn't issued for many years after service. Senators can 'fix' and reissue records -and he n not only has Teddy Boy as her (opps, "his" - Freudian slip) surrogate daddy, but is a senator himself, and it's pretty well testified to that Kerry was good at rewriting records - got him medals that way. (Not to mention all those hundreds of pardons Pres. Clinton handed out like gumdrops to cronies.) AND, something I've always wondered why no one is wondering is: Kerry scooted out of 'nam after only 3 months in combat (1 month was in training) - and got his ticket back home - BUT he still had time to serve - and was required to be in the reserve, I believe, another 6 years. Now, what is his attendance record during those 6 years - while he was so busy falsely accusing our soldiers (and do a search on how some of the soldiers at that time have now come forward and told how he coerced them to lie, and how many of the so-called "Winter Soldiers" were never even in Vietnam) - put all of these and other things up against the unproven claim that Bush might not have taken a flight physical that he no longer needed, for reasons outlined in the memo - and stack 'em up against the stuff sticking to Kerry's record - INCLUDING the Swift Boat vets - a group of America's REAL heroes, who went through the tortures of hell - and then got denigrated by Kerry. AK her about how it was ok for Kerry to meet with the enemy, while still a Naval Officer, in Paris 3 times. (Which makes him, constitutionally ineligable, by the way, to run for any elected office, even dog catcher, let alone Senator or Commander in Chief.)
Ask her if Bush DID miss a physical which he didn't need - and THIS is the worst thing they can claim against him - then she is beyond hope and why you'd call someone that brain dead friend is maybe a question you need to ask yourself.
IN additional, pull up a photo of young Lt. Bush - I don't know how to post photos here - and side by side it with a photo of Kerry at the same time - That alone should tell the story.
I am one sick old gramma about these blatant distortions -
Ask her is she wants a Pres. that will continue to protect us from terrorists or one who has now revealed his "plan" - treat the terrorist as just a nuisance, like gambling, a matter of arresting them when you run across one and taking him to court. One who believes as his wife said, that we should just get used to them and learn to live with it.
HELLO
Sorry - gotta go sit in the sun and regroup! Oh - and you might want her to think about what these fine men who REALLY were heroes and were THERE with Kerry,, testify to? (And I say again, all they against Bush is that he may not have taken an uneccesary physical? - after years of flying extemely dangerous fighter jets - who was in more danger of looseing his life - for years - that Kerry in his 3 short months in 'nam. That's probably a record in itself: One of the shortest combat tours of Veitnam) http://www.washtimes.com/national/20041011-123955-3725r.htm there's SO much more - but if none of this will penetrate the brain-wash shield, don't waste time or breathe.
