The Islamists hate us because our "politically Correct" culture is presented as "THE" American culture. This presentation from our media does not describe the real American culture. I abhor the picture Hollywood and TV paint of the USofA. Does this put me in the same position as the Islamists?

This is true. Our culture accepts homosexuality, and I have seen Christians trim their theological sails in order to fall in line with our culture.
The pressure to do so is immense. I've seen it in good Christian friends of mine who are desperate to fit in with the world on the issue of homosexuality. Pretty soon the Bible gets recrafted to accomodate the social pressure.

Do you think if America was entirely devoid of pop culture and as purely Christian as a nation-sized monastery [and who exactly is screwing the little boys, if not "devout" churchmen?] that they would hate us any less? Even if every man, woman and child in this nation was as pure a Christian as was humanly possible without even the faintest hint of pop culture immorality, they would STILL hate us and want us dead. Their hatred springs NOT from our hedonism or lack of pure Christain fatih but from our status as infidels and non-believers. One orthodoxy does not trump another. Sorry.

I pointed out to a guy at work that this is why the devout Athiest, George Soros is so vehement against GW Bush and mocks 'Bush's God' - why Hollywood too.
