I hesitate to suggest this, as I am fairly new around here, but I have noticed that there is quite a lot of interest in the Australian eleciton, so I thought I would make an offer here. I will be watching the election coverage and if people are interested, as the coverage proceeds, I can post updates in this thread, so people can follow what is happening in Australia.
Just an offer. Coverage starts in 15 minutes.
Oh and if any other Aussies want to post updates as well, of course, I wouldn't object. It's just I can see interest.

Just so people know that not all Americans are insular and uninterested in the world beyond,I have to say that I've stayed up all night until daybreak for this election, it's that important, and I'm so so glad for Australia. I greatly hope and pray that it's a portent for our upcoming elections!

You just made yourself a lot of new friends. :-) Thank you, and thank the Lord PM Howard was rewarded for his courageous stand in this global war on terror.

Good on you mate ! I have great respect for members of the ADF. I spent two years in the Naval Reserve in the 80's. I had a great month in 1984 helping deliver a GPV, the Bass from Sydney to Darwin. (A great way to see the Barrier Reef islands.)My father was a Lieutenant Commander on the HMAS Melbourne and my uncle was a Captain of the HMAS Swan. He later became a Commodore and he served with distinction in Vietnam

Please excuse my error...:-)
Bob Brown (Leader of the Greens) is claiming the Liberal policies didn't work in Tasmania, because they only gained two seats, rather than three!
'They didn't really win, because they didn't win by a bigger margin!'
Pathetic
Spoken as a genuine loser!
Congrat's Aussies....A good thing has happened to a great people....

A win for Australia and the US, a loss for the terrorists. Howard has been rock solid and I knew the Aussies would stand by him.
