October 8th Bush/Kerry Debate
Wow it's great to be able to actually keep up with the posts now :)
You came in a close second place, :O) Gongarats!
Yeah I caught that too -- a real freudian slip. I think he really beleives that -- that the constitution is not the foudantion but is subject to the current legislative whims of society.
BOOOOOOOOTOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXX!
Botox, botox, botox! Give me a B! Give me an O!... ...BOTOX!
I wouldn't have minded Bush naming Clarke. "Keeping Dick Clarke? That . . . that sucked."
Anecdotal, but glad to hear it. Let's watch the polls. I produce political ads, so it's off to yet another all-nighter for my team.
Happy to oblige. :)
Kerry dropped the ball several times throughout. Now, I debated in HS, and have no idea re the pressures these two gents faced tonite. But, considering both have long careers in politics, me thinks all that practice on the Senate floor would've helped the Senator. The DNC's Terry McAuliffe must be upset tonite. [And, imagine all who are upset w/ McAuliffe, who's got a weak candidate in Kerry.]
Bush, on the other hand, shined brighter than ever. Bush certainly connected with audience members and rightfully continued the admin's message on the economy, foreign affairs and homeland security. And, the eye contact on Bush's part -- he controlled that room. He was CiC 110%.
Here's my humble prediction: America will choose to stay with Bush. He's offered a consistent message and provided leadership needed during these challenging times. Aside from needling Bush, Kerry doesn't have much to run on.
My only concern is that above runs against what Lawrence O'Donnell has predicted (on McLaughlin Hour) -- that Kerry will win. I like O'Donnell --especially when he guest appeared on WW-- and respect his views, but he's wrongo. Bush will win.
BTW, anyone else looking forward to frmr President Bill Clinton getting into the mix?! Word is that will happen later this month. WHOOAH!
###
ps: what's up with the tapping of the feet when the other was speaking? and, will Kerry regret looking straight into the camera and making the I-won't-raise-taxes pledge? that was soooo H.W.ish!
pps: go Howard!!
So did I. Told them we conservatives MADE them and we can bring them down.
Susan Estrogen just claimed on Greta that the polls are REAL and the democrats just were more inspired than republicans to vote! And the dems got there first. If she had more to say, I missed it. Laughing too loud!
LOL
PS: Once again, it is proven that FReepers are awesome!
I would LOVE it if Ann Coulter got her own show. It's icing on the cake that she's easy to look at,when the she's also brilliant, witty, and knows her stuff. And SHE won't roll over for the liberals,if they try to hit,she hits back. I'm sick and tired of the namby-pambys on our side playing nice, when the people they're dealing with don't recognise the "Marquess of Queensberry" rules. I'm tired of them not doing their homework and not shooting down the lies and distortions. Reagan was brilliant at putting them in their place without lowering himself to their level, and I also admire that in Tony Blankley. I think he deserves a show too,he's implacable in knowing his stuff, while still being agreeable. Must be the old-school British in him;)
"Bush was in the ring, light on his feet, landing blows and ENJOYING IT."
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.
There talking abbout how Georges dad at least went to the UN and got a resolution before the gulf war. Yea the same UN that prohibited us to follow Saddam into Iraq and take him out back then. good thing for MSM at least 50% of the pop. are idiots.
I love Tony and I look forward to the day he runs Eleanor Clift over with his car in the parking lot after taping the McLaughlin group
LOL! Thanks!
The trouble with instant dialing buttons is that I don't know anyone's phone number any more.
Hah! I vaguely remember that. Honestly though, I loved the original Trek show but after 10 years and they were making big budget movies and nobody had yet learned how to ACT ... ;^)
I'm watching the debate replay on my VCR, because I was at a social thang where I was watching the festivities from one eye. (But my group thought Bush looked great tonight).
This is a huge win for Bush. He was POSITIVE, POSITIVE, "we're winning a tough battle for our lives Americans". Kerry was NEGATIVE, NEGATIVE, "we're losing an unecessary fling of Bush cronyism Americans".
Bush is doing wonderfully. He's prowling the stage like a leopard. Kerry's stiffly lurching about like the robot from "Lost in Space".
I don't care what Susan Estrich says, she's just thankful she has a mini-bar in her hotel room because St. Louie is rolling up the sidwalks in 70 minutes.
Gotta Go. 5:30 wakeup call to watch some college FOOOOTball.
