More gris for the mill...
Iraq is becoming a target rich enviroment...
"...have seized Iraqi territories in Zeyn al-Qos, Seif Saad and al-Amarah regions..."
Does that mean we get to attack?
Iran ping
"Iraq is becoming a target rich enviroment..."
Bingo. That's why it's the right war, at the right time and the right place.
I'm sure some stern finger-wagging and negotiation will follow...
But seriously, Al-amarah is fairly far inside the Iraq border - if this is true, Iran has surged forward and grabbed a strip of land at least one hundred miles wide.
I guess they think we are too bogged down with fighting insurgents to come after them.
I have the same question as another poster - are they then a fair target - ?
Hope so -
we seem to know the problem - but take forever in fixing it - Is everyone talking to everyone else - ? Or is this like 9/11 - no one knows what the other is doing - ?
just a thought -
And...if Iran doesn't get a sharp lesson IMMEDIATELY, we can expect them to grab another strip of land...and another, and another...
In a way, I hope this is true. Gives us a reason to help foment problems in Iran and to kill some "elit" Iranian thugs.
our military is all about strategy, Iraq was never the issue, squeezing Iran from the west (Iraq) and the east (Afganistan) is the strategy, that is why it is so important the the POTUS to win !
ping
Agreed !
The WMD claims were -most likely-somewhat exaggerated: the real object being the interposition of forces only miles away from Iran and Syria, IMHO.
I never was too good at chess, but, looking at a map of the region, I can see a sort of "Knight's Gambit" on the board.
Personally, I think destabilization (on our terms) is what's been needed in the region for years.
Diplomacy sure hasn't worked.
I love it when the terrorists so willingly walk right into the Jaws of Death.
Absolutely. We can't win the WOT without getting rid of the Iranian islamists.
If we don't do that, then we're going to get bled for at least a generation.
!?!
Either that or they are tryingn to provoke a confrontation in order to unify Iranian opposition against the U.S.
Am I being silly to think maybe the "jaw" is facing the other way? I mean I'm not an expert in international affairs but if we attacked the eyerainians, would they consider it an act of war? They could always claim to be "practicing manoeuvers".
Just a thought.
it is so obvious, I wish more folks could see this, POTUS can not expose it, if he did the DORK and McCaullife would go on a feeding frenzy, I fear that even after 9/11 the only thing that will wake up some people in this country about this WAR with Islamic Extremists, is a nuke going off in a major metropolitan area
Not until after the Iraqi elections install a government that will legitimately go to the U.N. and seek a resolution demanding Iranian withdrawal. Once the formalities have been followed the Iraqis will resort to force to remove the Iranians, and they will put together a coalition that just happens to include the American military already on the scene.
Unless the Iranians do something incredibly stupid to invite an attack, we will have to play this one according to Kerry's rules. However, we will not be deterred if the U.N. doesn't want to play along.
