He never specified his reference to CO and, even another poster queried it. In our acronym-laden society, CO can include the following:
1) Concientious Objector
2) Commissioned Officer
3) Commanding Officer
4) Communications Officer
5) Code Officer
6) Community Oversight
7) Chief, Operations
I chose one that sounded the most reasonable to me from his post.
Your right, it could be taken to mean any number of things. I knew of two people who became conscientious objectors after almost 10 years in the service. One based on religious conviction and the other because they just didn't want to be there anymore. They both could saved themselves and a bunch of other people a lot of paperwork if they had figured that one out before they enlisted.
