Dallas, Texas has a lot to offer. Economically and Socially it's diverse, but usually goes conservative in total. Great food, good sports and year-round fun things to do. You fly anywhere else cheap from here for the occassional beach, mountains or family needs.

A lot of folks like Precsott, AZ

or Cottonwood AZ between Flagstaff and Prescott.

Some like Las Cruces NM.

Probably Utah has more conservatives per acre than most States.

But then, are the world change characters right? Will Phoenix be a seaport and Denver almost one?

Then there's the hoards of Mexicans slated, supposedly, to come across the boarders with hoards of Chinese Army folks with guns to take over the West and especially the Southwest.

Goodness. God only knows.

I'm just eager to get back to Taipei to again be able to Love Chinese students into God's Kingdom and anticipate losing my life for The Lord given probable earth events.

Otherwise, Farmington, NM is a great place strategic attack-wise. Mountains not too far.

Silverton and Bayfield Colo are neat places. Silverton in a very high mountain valley deep amidst mountain peaks. About 300 population in a cold winter. Snow. Tourists in summer. Probably more liberal than you'd like.

The AZ and NM border has some great small towns according to some.

Western Kansas, low cost housing, good hunting, peace and quite, and lots of conservatives with a few libs mixed in for entertainment.

Northwest Arkansas (Fayetteville area) & north Alabama (Huntsville area) are quite nice both geographically and ideologically.

We have hurricanes too, but Northwestern Florida (the Panhandle) is very conservative. (except for Tallahassee)

Not all of Austin is liberal. Williamson County north suburbs of Austin, is extreamly conservative. Not a elected Dem. in the county, totally Republican! Williamson county (Round Rock, Georgetown Area) home of Dell Computers is solid Republican. If you are retired try SunCity Texas, in Georgetown.

Does it have to be a strong conservative majority? I was thinking if you are planning to move you might want to choose an area on the cusp of turning solidly Red, to help in solidifying it as a conservative state. Have to think towards the future after all. LOL

Though, I admit, if I did leave my heart is drawn to Texas. The only problem is that I love WA, and all its seasons, beautiful state, just overpowered by Libs in the West.

If I may ask, where in Western Oregon are you? Portland/Salem/Eugene may be too liberal, but what about the coast south of the Dunes? That area seems pretty appealing to me (Coos Bay, Bandon, etc.).

About 5 years ago, I visited Newport/Lincoln City with long-term thoughts in mind, but the Central Coast seemed rather crowded and "artsy." I liked the weather, at least in concept: no snow, but never hot either (almost never over 70).

Tennessee! Green, sweet and no state income tax. Remember, Tennesseans went for Bush in 2000, shutting out home-boy Gore.

Lived a lot of places, but grew up and then retired here:
http://www.sanangelotexas.org/ Low housing, taxes, wages. Good education, medical, lifestyle, conservative people for the most part. West Texas.

Anywhere and everywhere is a good place for a conservative to live. We need to be present even in the most inhospitable place, to show our humanity.

Why not stay in Oregon and work to educate your neighbors on why conservative principles are good for them and their families, that is, create your own conservative majority in Oregon -- or do you really want more sunshine?

Also Kerrville, Texas is a great conservative town, located in the heart of the Texas hill country, a retirement community.

But with ALL the talk of Texas, again Williamson County is rated one of the most Republican/conservative large counties(Top 3) in all of Texas. Only in central austin, travis county do you find the liberal mecca of Texas, sadly!

I always thought Oregon was such a beautiful state. Too bad the liberals have contaminated it with their overbearing presence.

I don't know where to suggest. But I will say that if Kerry is elected president, I'm going to secede from the Union and form my own little 10 acre republic.

Livingston County, Michigan. Huge Republican stronghold. Ask Dan from Michigan.

Out at the end of the BART line on the Delta in the Bay Area of Northern California. Toughest cops in the world told the cabbies not to call unless they're bleeding. I'm proud to live in this rough, beautiful area where gardenias and bougainvillea thrive.
