Fox News' chief political correspondent Carl Cameron's head may yet roll after he submitted a fake, insulting news story about Sen. John Kerry that was posted on FoxNews.com.
At the moment, he's gotten away with only a reprimand.
Last week, you may recall, Cameron fabricated Kerry quotes, such as: "Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" and "I'm metrosexual - [George W. Bush] is a cowboy."
Moveon.org is putting the heat on Rupert Murdoch's network by insisting that Cameron is unfit to deliver "fair and balanced" reporting on the election.
The liberal activist group, which boasts a mailing list of more than 2.8 million people, has asked its members to demand that Fox News CEO Roger Ailes oust Cameron.
"This isn't the first time that Carl Cameron has shown his bias," said Moveon.org's Noah Winer. "He spent three minutes fawning over President Bush in an interview in 2000, bragging to him that his wife was hanging out with Bush's sister on the campaign trail."
Fox News didn't return calls for comment.
Meanwhile, small wonder young people are still having trouble voting. Drew Carey is not even going to bother to pull a lever come Nov. 2.
Why? The comic feels the country is run by powerful groups that control whatever candidate he might vote for. "Quit pretending that it matters, would you? Can you vote for all the nefarious cabals that really run the world? No. So f- it," Carey told Reason magazine.
And Penn Gillette told the mag the "moral thing" is not to vote, adding: "I'm undecided (always the stupidest position)." But Gillette noted that a friend would give him 100 bucks if he votes for George Bush, so he might do that. Duh.
Thankfully, Jake Gyllenhaal hasn't lost his passion. "Politics is getting sexier to young people," he told us at Monday night's ACLU benefit. "But voter registration forms need to be places where young people are going to see them."

NOTHING!
If Fox caves, I will become a Taliban.
Or a metrosexual.
No problem. As soon as they oust Rather, we'll consider Cameron. Until then they can pack sand (to put it politely)...
Murdoch could remind them that nobody fired Dan Rather.
Cameron made a stupid mistake, but those words weren't even meant to be seen by the general public. Meanwhile, the left-wing nuts at CBS and ABC routinely put biased stories on the air for millions to see, even as they claim to be objective. As Mr. Windsurfer might ask, "Which is worse?"
Meanwhile, over on early morning CBS news, we have an ex CNN reporter, Beigletter (sp.?) chatting about sensitive photographs the WH hasn't wanted released...this started, Beigletter says, with the first Bush WH, continued by the Clintons, and now through the second Bush's WH. I tuned in partway through the discussion, where the CBS interviewer, a blonde woman, asked if he thought the censorship was politically motivated. Begleitter said the networks had gone along with it...and it sounded like photographs of dead soldiers' coffins. She asked if he knew any soldier who'd died recently in Iraq and he said no, but he'd gotten letters or heard from families. I don't know if he's written a book about this with photos, or what, but of course this couldn't possibly....the timing or content...or interview...or CBS or CNN ex or not, be biased. No sirreee.
I can't see Fox caving to Moveon.org. This story is pure theater.
So newspeople cannot show a bias? That is going to leave a whole bunch of job openings, isn't it?
First FOXNews is sued by MoveOn.org to try and take off their "Fair and Balanced" phrase...now they're demanding they fire someone because he isn't fair and balanced? lol, typical left.
CarlCameron should simply state that his story is 'fake, but accurate', which is is!
Agreed. Just pointing out their hypocrisy :-)
"Two wrongs don't make a right."
Roger Ailes and FOX should can him. Not doing so just gives the Left ammunition and potentially removes Rather as a legitimate issue with the public.
As with every issue,in the liberal mind, there is a double standard - the guy from Fox pokes fun at Kerry (the equivalent of calling Kerry "poopy pants" ) - moveon.org finds it offensive.
Meanwhile, the guy from c-BS produces and reports lies about President Bush... moveon.org approves.
Cheney wins a debate. Comrade Couric and others pronounce, he was mean.
Same ole, same ole - Liberals want to be able to do and say anything they want unchecked.
True stories about Kerry are more insulting.
Well damn.
He's been assigned to the Kerry campaign
and of course he's sick of it.
Carl was so fair and upbeat with his Kerry campaign reports that he had me thinking he was a Kerry supporter!...I don't think this is a firing offense..
Kerry got a manicure.
Kerry got spray painted.
Kerry gets botox injections.
Kerry gets white on white whitener.
President George W. Bush visits with the hurricane victims.
That is the real issue!!!
