A nail-biter for Fox's quotemeister (Carl Cameron)
New York Daily News ^ | 10/07/04 | Rush and Molloy

Fox News' chief political correspondent Carl Cameron's head may yet roll after he submitted a fake, insulting news story about Sen. John Kerry that was posted on FoxNews.com.

At the moment, he's gotten away with only a reprimand.

Last week, you may recall, Cameron fabricated Kerry quotes, such as: "Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" and "I'm metrosexual - [George W. Bush] is a cowboy."

Moveon.org is putting the heat on Rupert Murdoch's network by insisting that Cameron is unfit to deliver "fair and balanced" reporting on the election.

The liberal activist group, which boasts a mailing list of more than 2.8 million people, has asked its members to demand that Fox News CEO Roger Ailes oust Cameron.

"This isn't the first time that Carl Cameron has shown his bias," said Moveon.org's Noah Winer. "He spent three minutes fawning over President Bush in an interview in 2000, bragging to him that his wife was hanging out with Bush's sister on the campaign trail."

Fox News didn't return calls for comment.

Meanwhile, small wonder young people are still having trouble voting. Drew Carey is not even going to bother to pull a lever come Nov. 2.

Why? The comic feels the country is run by powerful groups that control whatever candidate he might vote for. "Quit pretending that it matters, would you? Can you vote for all the nefarious cabals that really run the world? No. So f- it," Carey told Reason magazine.

And Penn Gillette told the mag the "moral thing" is not to vote, adding: "I'm undecided (always the stupidest position)." But Gillette noted that a friend would give him 100 bucks if he votes for George Bush, so he might do that. Duh.

Thankfully, Jake Gyllenhaal hasn't lost his passion. "Politics is getting sexier to young people," he told us at Monday night's ACLU benefit. "But voter registration forms need to be places where young people are going to see them."

I hope old Carl hasn't done this but you are correct. What Rather and the so called "Mainstream Media" does on a daily basis is worse than this if it be true.
Buy anyway lets no forget good old Carl was the wonder boy who almost caused Bush the election last year when he stumbled across, probably at the hands of someone in Gore's campaign, the DUI charge against Bush years ago and dropped it at the last second before the election.
Don't be surprised if the Democrats come up with something like this again this election.

Well, I was refraining from being graphic on a family forum. "Pack sand" is exactly what I meant. I'll let you imagine where.

Nah, don't fire him, at least not yet ..."Obviously, it should be done probably after the election is over so that it doesn't affect what's going on." What is good for CBS is good for FOX.

Like you HAVE to give the left ammunition. They make their own. And any comparison with what Cameron did to what Rather did is ludicrous.

What is it about Republican's desire to fall on their swords, while the Rats whistle along merrily with Klan members, very bad drivers, and rapists as their most respected members? ( with thanks to Ann Coulter )

Because conservatives have a knack for culling the herd. It keeps the gene pool stronger.

I could be wrong but I thought it was Camaron that broke the Bush DUI story at the last minute.

I totally agree. We threw Trent Lott to the wolves for a comment that I didn't see any racial slur in, but we give Senator "Sheets" Byrd, who was an active member of the KKK, a pass.

Cameron should probably be fired, but there is no equating what Carl did to the CBS forged document scandal.

I guess the main thing for me is that conservatives should live by their own standards and not be slaves to some agenda from the left. Senator Packwood is an example of the Republicans being pulled down by one of their own and the left's agenda, and, in the end, the inevitable happened anyway.

Journalists and networks shouldn't be right or left but they should still police their own. If they don't, they run the risk of being punished in the marketplace.

IT WAS A JOKE (yelling on purpose). Sheesh, these people have no sense of humor.

Wait a minute, I might be onto something here. Space aliens from Twilo have two common characteristics: No thumbs and no sense of humor.**

Couple that with Kerry's comment about his global test also being a consultation with those other than on the globe. In other words, space aliens.

There you have it. They're all space aliens from Twilo.

** I'm ignoring the third characteristic, looking like Danny Thomas.

Please.

Cameron's story was an obvious joke not meant to be used as news. This is about the Left wanting to make this the equivalent of Dan rather knowingly using forgeries to hurt the C-I-C of our country. There is no comparison.

I'm through caving to the Libs. Tossed Lott and that got us nowhere.

If FOX got rid of Cameron, they lose me for good. Bright side is that cameron would be available to take Ari's job then.

How interesting that they gang up on Cameron for a humorous and TRUE comment about doing his cuticles and nails.

However I didn't hear the moveon&out.org group yell "BIAS" when Carl Cameron "outed" Bush in the October surprise 2000 and announce to the world that he had gotten a DWI while in his youth.

HEY MoveOn.org and you other Leftist/Socialist/Commie rotton tomatoes. Your bias is showing.
