If there ever were amendments to states' constitutions changing the way its members cast their votes, it should allow the majority in a district to determine how its vote is cast, and then the majority of the state as a whole should determine how its two Senatorial votes are cast.
Of course, for this to even work, all fifty states would have to change their procedures at the roughly the same time. That, and if it ever came to pass it would completely change the dynamic of how the nominees campaign. But never should there be a time when the presidential election is decided by a simple majority popular vote.
What is even more amazing is that so many of them seem to gather here at Free Republic for their middle school reunions. I've been tempted to ask some of them what state they're from but - based on their reasoning - I suspect a significant number of them would answer "the United States". I don't press the issue for fear of seeing it confirmed in black and white; it's more than my conservative heart could take.
