What amazes me is that Lurch and Breck Girl keep "forgetting" that the Presidents Clinton came in ready to reform healthcare and make it available for everyone. Eight years later, nary a bandaid had appeared. And now they can't stand it that the REPUBLICANS have actually done something about our healthcare crisis (created in part by idiot trial lawyers like Edwards who sue anything that moves). Besides that, the majority of the 5 million Americans who have lost their health insurance coverage have done so BY CHOICE because they are willing to take that chance. I'm surprised Edwards didn't have to continually run and go sit in some water to put out the fire in his pants since he was continually lying!

Actually the majority of the 5 million are now ensured by their new employers. The 5 million figure includes everyone who was out of work long enough to lose coverage. And... interestingly enough... almost all of them could have continued coverage under COBRA or HIPAA.

On a general topic...

In tonight's debate the split screen would have been to Edwards detriment and it's interesting that the networks chose tonight to go without it. CSPAN used the split, and throughout most of Cheney's comments you could see Edwards mugging and posturing in a way that showed him for the arrogant jerk that he is. Sometimes public perception turns on the smallest thing like Gore's 'stalking' moment and Bush staring him down. Edward's mugging had the potential to be just that sort of moment. Anyone who saw that split screen tonight would have a hard time liking him. Sadly, only CSPAN's viewers saw it.
