***I would ask that new signups be stopped for the week prior to the election. Trolls and newbies will overburden the system.***

Guess you were never a newbie, eh? I am finding a lot of the newbies really are offering up some good stuff. Trolls are a different matter. I remember too well how happy I was to find FR and I would ask that new membership never be closed.

"Guess you were never a newbie, eh?"

We all were, but "desperate times call for desperate measures". At least FR doesn't throw up obstacles to newbies as a matter of regular policy.

A week before the elections sounds wise to me.

The left has already publicized their attempts to hijack threads on conservative forums. We deal with it.

When we hit high traffic and timely moments like this (that could affect the future course of this nation dramatically) I question adding new users to the rolls. Not a permenant restriction, just something as the election nears and October Surprises crop up. Up to and including election day.

Day after the election, let them join up.
