What will the October surprise be?
bobjam

Posted on 10/05/2004 9:58:48 AM PDT by bobjam

Conventional wisdom now holds that both the Bush/Cheney and the Kerry/Edwards campaigns have planned surprises in order to shake the race in their favor this month. What could those surprises be? Here are some suggestions, are there any others?

Bush surprises for Kerry: 1) Bush meets with Allawi in Baghdad 2) Questions arise over Kerry's and Edwards's taxes

Kerry surprises for Bush: 1) Allegations that Bush got a girl pregnant and talked her into an abortion in the early 70's

Melanie Morgan from KSFO tacitly confirmed that this footage exists and that the Swifties have it, but seemed to indicate some reluctance on their part to use it.

That is what I heard and that is why they are having a vote as to run with it. If I remember right she said they were voting on it today or tomorrow, is that correct?

1. Kerry really did throw away his medals in 1971 and got replacement medals in 1985.

2. The RNC will air an ad concerning Kerry's antiwar activities and have film of Kerry with Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark. They will also address his attendance at the VVAW Kansas City meeting, which discussed the assassination of USG officials.

3. A woman (or women) will come forward and disclose Kerry's infidelity and womanizing.

4. Bush will hit Kerry for the first time tonight in the debate about Kerry's antiwar actiivities and its effect on the morale of our troops.

"Would Kerry be eligible for President if he was dishonorably discharged?"

If Kerry was not "honorably discharged", wouldn't that have come out already? Also, if that was really the case, don't you think HE would know that it would eventually come out and try to head it off much earlier than now?

There is NO WAY that could have stayed quiet for this long, no way!!

Osama bin Laden is discovered selling Puegots at a Boston dealership. Spends weekends out on the Sound with Teddy Kennedy and likes an occassional ride around town poking his head out of a tank with a helmet on.

I do not believe Kerry will win. I DO believe it is possible that he will take the election through massive voter fraud.

Bingo, you win the $1M prize. You got it right!!! They couldn't quite get enough fraud in Florida 4 years ago (too many R votes) but have perfected it this year either in Fl or other states. They know they can't win legitimately but they're excellent @ massive fraud and the Republicans are stupid and do Nothing.

Also, they STOLE many of the Senate races four years ago.

We have the most crooked, fraudulent elections in the world and most of our citizens don't even know it.

John Edwards, the man that could be a heartbeat away from our leader is a coward. On September 11, 2001 he fled the Capitol to his home...

'...I went on in to the -- to my Senate office building. Then we saw the second plane hit, and, of course, the strike on the Pentagon. I left the Capitol, because I was worried about my family. I left the Capitol, went home. I was there for a period of time.

And, actually, after I was there for a fairly short period of time, the Capitol Police came to my home, knocked on the door, and said that they were gathering up senators to take us to a -- to a safe or secure location. And I said, "Well, what about my wife and my kids?" And they said, "Well, they'll stay here."

With all due respect, at the time he was a Senator, no immediate duties to perform on 9/11. Making sure your family is safe in a disaster is NOT cowardice. I call that being a good father.

There is no "Big Red Machine" anymore - but, oh - those were the days, weren't they?!!

We are huge Cincy Reds fans - but we'll never get those days back again. The way they played this year - well - I'm thinking of switching my loyalty from being a "Reds" fan to being a "Red SOX" fan. (NOT)

Oh well - there's always "next year" --- sigh...

Have the Swiftvets mentioned Kerry's attendance of the VVAW meeting where assassination of Senators was discussed? I'm not in a swing state - so I never see their ads. If not, this would seem to be one helluva "surprise" that could easily sink Kerry's dingy little dingy.

I'm sticking with my original Oct. Surprise theory:

John Lehman, former Sec. of the Navy and member of the 9/11 Commission, reveals that he has investigated Kerry's citations purportedly signed by him. Lehman reveals he's discovered they were inappropriately issued without authority from the Sec's office.

I wish.

I totally disagree. Would you feel this way about a fireman or Policeman or Soldier? He had a first responsibility to be a Senator and his wife and he could quickly make arrangements for his family to be taken care of. FGS his wife is an Attorney and certainly would be capable of making a decision of this type without Johnny playing macho man. In a crisis of this matter a Senator should be available to help enact emergency legislation even from a "safe house". You must examine how our Government works especially in a crisis situation. I would not call him a coward, just not a responsible public servant. Judging by the number of votes he has missed,he is almost as useless a Senator as Kerry.

"The surprize will come in November, when Kerry wins."

I am not known in my circles as the most optimistic guy. However, I still have a strong gut feeling that Americans will do the right thing when they get into the polling booth.

The only way Bush loses is through MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD!

My feed kept dropping out, so I didn't hear the vote part.

I moved to GA from CA three years ago, and still love KSFO.

I think that some woman will come forward and say she has W's Love child.

Absolutely not, their job and their duty is to protect and respond to the public in cases of disaster. Considering how fast legislation gets passed ? Any crisis resolutions that rely on the legislative branch to act quickly willfail miserably.

You must examine how our Government works especially in a crisis situation.

The Executive Branch is led by one person for a reason. For fast thinking decisions during crisis events that require his personal evaluation and judgement. The time for the legislature to act in a crisis is BEFORE it occurs in order to privde the Executive (enforcement) with the necessary authority. Crisis management by committee is a BAD idea ma'am.

He did the right thing. Now? Would he make a good President or Vice President; absolutely not, but that is not germane to his actions on 9/11/2001.
