I think Laz was the first to come up with the Burma Shave stuff on earlier fund-raising threads. Back about 4 or 5 years ago.

The little ditties were sprinkled all over the country, along the highway and byways. I remember them from the '30's. During the '40's they had them on the platforms of the Elevated street car stations in Chicago. Check this really great piece of Americana. I was there. BURMA SHAVE

1963 was the last year for new Burma Shave signs. No more red and white nuggets of roadside wisdom to ease the journey

That's the year I was born .. plus my family didn't travel much. About the furthest we ever went was the Jersey Shore and that's only because my Aunt & Uncle owned a house down there

Don't remember Laz doing Burma Shave (he did the history of FR; now where did I put that link?), but I remember Nick Danger putting the animated Burma Shave signs out there.
