"..The mural of Saddam gloating along side the burning twin towers was proof enough for me."

Me too. In addition, Saddam was widely quoted threatening "The Great Satan"(that is us in Jihad lingo) with his "Nuclear Mujahadeen" right after 911. Not sure why this is not a major 'talking point' for the administration every single time they are called 'liars' by the Democrats and the MSM. I love President Bush, but at this point, I have to question his advisors. It has been frustrating to watch him get blasted day after day for the last year.

Here's Scott Wheeler's bio as presented by CNS (note he was formerly a reporter for Insight Magazine:

Staff Writer -- Scott L. Wheeler. As an investigative journalist covering domestic and international issues, Scott Wheeler’s work has frequently been referenced by newspaper, magazine and book authors worldwide. His reports are known for extensive documentation – often acquired at great personal risk. He has traveled to the war zones in Yugoslavia, the drug fields of South America and followed the trails of international arms smugglers to Canada and Europe. With a reputation for frankness, balance and risk-taking, he is often sought out by frustrated whistle-blowers, reluctant witnesses, stonewalled law enforcement investigators and disillusioned government officials who want to expose corruption and wrongdoing. Prior to joining CNSNews.com in April 2004, Wheeler served as an investigative reporter for Insight Magazine, detailing the status of nuclear weapons in North Korea, fourth generation warfare, terrorism in the Caribbean, and the exposing an intelligence operation by the People’s Republic of China against a U.S. defense contractor. He also previously served as the chief correspondent for the television newsmagazine, American Investigator.

Thanks for the bio and for this important thread. I particularly appreciate the clever linkage you made between this story and the picture of Saddam gloating over the 9/11 attack. Wheeler sounds quite credible. Right now, I think it's just a matter of waiting for the authentication of the documents. Once this hits, President Bush will finally get the respect on the war in Iraq that he rightfully deserves.

I'm afraid you are correct. The Dems I know believe every lie that comes out of the mouths of their appointed leaders. The fact that Kerry and other leading Dems said the same thing that the Bush admin is saying now about Hussein's WMDs does not daunt them in the least. With Dem voters you are dealing with the most gullible, ignorant segment of the voting population. Big Media will certainly never tell them the truth or point out Kerry and other leading Dems lies, distortions, and hypocrisies. We just have to hope that a significant segment of moderates or fence-sitters get the truth before the election.

From what Kerry said the other night about giving Iran nuke fuel so they won't make their own.(wink-wink) That is like giving an alcoholic liquor so he doesn't to provide his own.

What a colossal dumb ass this Kerry is. Not only is it a stupid idea, but it really insulted the crap out of the Iranians(FWIW) G_d help us if Komrade Kerry gets into the White house.

If we do "find WMD" in Iraq then by previous agreements we have to let the UN go in and certify Iraqi compliance with the nonproliferation treaties and rules.

I have seen speculation that this is also the reason the anthrax attacks are unsolved because there is a UN treaty that would give them authority over the investigation if the anthrax has an international source.

Iraq's WMD were transported to, and now stored in Syria.
The big question is, if they are there, WHY, and for
WHOM and for WHAT?

Because of a lack of trusted Arabic translators, it will take
years to go through the millions of captured documents
found in Iraq. If "Hanoi John" happens to get elected
the full translation may never occur, therefore much
will never be known!

THANKS FOR THE PING

From the ISG report:

KEY FINDINGS (BIOLOGICAL) - Excerpt

The IIS had a series of laboratories that conducted biological work including research into BW agents for assassination purposes until the mid-1990s. ISG has not been able to establish the scope and nature of the work at these laboratories or determine whether any of the work was related to military development of BW agent.

• The security services operated a series of laboratories in the Baghdad area. Iraq should have declared these facilities and their equipment to the UN, but they did not. Neither the UN Special Commission (UNSCOM)nor the UN Monitoring, Verifi cation, and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) were aware of their existence or inspected them.

• Some of the laboratories possessed equipment capable of supporting research into BW agents for military purposes, but ISG does not know whether this occurred although there is no evidence of it. The laboratories were probably the successors of the Al Salman facility, located three kilometers south of Salman Pak, which was destroyed in 1991, and they carried on many of the same activities, including forensic work.

• Under the aegis of the intelligence service, a secretive team developed assassination instruments using poisons or toxins for the Iraqi state. A small group of scientists, doctors and technicians conducted secret experiments on human beings, resulting in their deaths. The aim was probably the development of poisons, including ricin and afl atoxin to eliminate or debilitate the Regime’s opponents. It appears that testing on humans continued until the mid 1990s. There is no evidence to link these tests with the development of BW agents for military use.
