No, it is not good. What is good, is having Americans compete in the world economy. Being cosseted will allow Darwin to catch up with them. America to remain number one over the decades, needs to be lean, mean, flexible and supple, and let the market signals go out about where workers should migrate, and what fields offer the highest return, without the noise of government cosseting, which in the end will rapidly collapse like a house of cards anyway. How long was Bush able to keep the steel tariffs going, before being bitch slapped, which hurt the American economy overall in any event, particularly the steel consuming industries in Ohio, which were damaged, and now have Bush sweating to keep Ohio on the reservation?
