actually yes I did expect Bush to sail into election day with a 5 point or better lead. Incumbents who re-election do. This is the first incumbent in quite a long long time where the outcome is not certain one way or the other. This is more like a open election like 2000, 1968 or 1960.

Exactly. Great points. And remember that the dems were spinnin' this thing before the debate even began, it was a do-or-die for Kerry and they knew it. They had to make sure that the perception was that Kerry won, no matter what happened.

As for the hand-wringers... so what if the POTUS looked tired? He's actually WORKING for a living, unlike Frenchie. So what if he looked "angry" when Kerry was LYING through his teeth? What should he have been doing...filing his nails? Looking nonplussed? Acting as if what Kerry was saying WASN'T a load of crap? I swear, the hand-wringers make me almost as mad as the dems, these days! Wake up, people!
