Don't worry. Kerry's too ugly to get elected. He looks like a walking cadaver.

My wife who has been a Republican all her life and voted for W in 2000 and twice for governor told me yesterday that she is pulling for Kerry because she thinks he will pull the troops out of Iraq. Our son is to be deployed to Iraq in March. Will be a challenge to get her to change her mind. Probably some others like her also. Any ideas?

Tell your wife that before Kerry pulls our troops out, he'll put them under UN control. His goal is to "pass the Global Test." His first order of business will to win back "credibility" with our "allies." They only way I can see that he pulls France and Germany into Iraq is 1). Letting them take a bulk of the reconstruction contracts, 2). Put our troops under UN control. The U.S. will still man the front lines with 140,000 troops while France and Germany will pull in military engineers and contractors. Kerry can say he kept his promise. Your son is still deployed, but now he's following orders from the UN.

even his father was a good debator. GHW didnt show up for the 1992 election but in 1988 he was merciless against Dukakis.

can you explain the "right/wrong track" question to me? I love Bush but don't like the way the country is going (gay marriage, abortion, moral decline, etc.) I think Bush is the only one who can help us get back on the right track, but if I were asked in a survey, I would answer "wrong track". Do you know how the question is usually presented?

YOu mentioned the buzz words, "gravitas" and "presidential". Don't forget " rosy "last week. It is so obvious that it is silly how coodinated things are. At least we get to see who is in on things. I will be listening for "presidential" tomorrow - if I can stomach watching any of the shows.

I meant it was interesting to see this little gathering of "Bush blew it!" and "The dems are really energized" propagandists posting their idiotic brains out and I was pleased to see a normal person like you addressing their nonsense.

I'm leaving myself. Later.

They went from over sampling Republicans by 9% in their last poll to oversampling Democrats by 2% so there is an 11% difference in terms of sampling.

That said, this poll is weird when it comes to the time frame in which they polled. If they actually polled like they said, it was between Sept. 30th and October 2nd. That means they polled late Thursday Night, all day Friday, and then Saturday morning. Seems a little unusual to me.

My conclusion, this is a pro-Kerry push poll in order to give the talking heads something to spew about on the Sunday shows. As Rush once said, "The media uses polls to create news, not report on it".

If you read the internals, they all favor the president, and the questions leave a lot to be desired in some instances.

Of course we are unpopular abroad.......IMHO......who cares! The question should be if we ought to tailor our policies to get the approval of foreign countries.

As for the economy......clearly the economy has improved drastically since President Bush took office so I would suspect that the polls were heavily slanted to the dem urban areas.

Other polls will follow Newsweek. I am very concerned. Even Bush supporters know how badly he botched that debate. He let Kerry walk all over him and all he basically said was tough job, tough job. 55 million people saw it, it is no wonder that the polls would reflect that. Bush needs to now pull himself out of this mess he created with that wretched performance. All is not lost but the "easy victory" is gone.

When you see a post, click on the screen name of the person who made the post. You'll get a new screen with information about that account -- on yours, upper left hand corner, it says, "Since Sept. 12, 2004".

The whiners here are like fans at a football game whose favorite team is winning 14-0 in the third quarter who shriek doom and gloom when their team throws an interception that gets turned into a field goal. 14-3. BFD.

We got better players, better coaches, and better fans. Play hard for four quarters and we win this going away!

Don't get upset by one turnover.

actually in 1996 the majority believe the ocuntry to be on he wrong track. Unless the margin is huge like 40 points as it was in 1992, it is meaningless.

MSM treats the right track wrong track number like it is a vote. 51% wrong track mean the incumbent losses. Nonesense

The mainstream media knew the race was gonna tighten. Its a dead heat again. Now the question is if John F*ckin's bounce is a lasting one. If it fades, President Bush will win in November. If this IS a sea change, then look for a narrow Kerry next month.

"We have Bush to thank for this one. He could have finished Kerry the other night.
Instead we now have giddy Eleanor Clift, Terry McAuliffe and the hordes of democrats on the attack.
Bush left us with this mess. We now have to do whatever we can for what will probably be only a close win instead of a complete rout of the entire democrat establishment.
Another fine mess Bush has gotten us into."

Personally, I have absolutely no idea how anyone could think that Bush could put Kerry away in a debate. Bush has major problems speaking off the cuff and has always had a problem with gaffes. Bush I think held his own in the debate, but to think he could've defeated Kerry is an absolute day dream. He doesn't have the debating skills for that. I've voted for him a couple of times and of course will this year...

Rasmussen says....

"In last night's sample, 6% of voters say they changed their minds following the debate. This includes 3% who are now voting for Kerry, 2% for Bush, and 1% who are now undecided."

Doesn't that mean that it's basically unchanged, maybe just one point different than what it was before the debate?

The baggy-eyed bolshevik did continually tee them up for Lurch; For example, baggy eyes started one "question" for Kerry with "Colossal errors," can you name...." There were many more. He gave nothing comparable to Bush.
