President Bush trounced his opponent in the psychological and image management of the debate. President Bush used the debate to set up a demonstration of his principled restraint in decision making processes and his cool headed execution of those decisions. He truthfully shared with America that those decisions ,while hard to make, were necessary and responsive to a clear and present danger. He steadfastly refused to send mixed messages to America and our Allies. He reinforced how rigorous and vital the skill of discernment must be in our Commander in Chief. He did not engage in character denigration of Kerry and when asked to respond to Kerry’s accusations of deliberately prevaricating (Kerry didn’t use the harsh word Leher did) Bush declined to participate and said he was a calm guy and didn’t take it personal, however they both looked at the same intelligence.
My take on the debate? I wanted the satisfaction of a blood lust since the Idiot saluted. I believe Kerry is a WMD. I wanted the president to hammer him so ruthlessly that Tereza would come on stage, pick up the pieces and take the poor sot home.
Bush was not speaking to the choir last night. His focus was on those who were looking for a Protector in Chief. I admire that man for not dangling false hope in front of families with those fighting the war. That is cruel and dishonorable. We will leave when we have finished what those who died there were fighting for.

Because now the RNC should launch a TV ad campaign using Kerry's substantive stupidities from the debate, particularly "global test" and "I've been consistent on Iraq."
Well then Bring It On. I'm sure the GOP can come up with some interesting clips from the debate.
Exactly. As soon as I heard last night that the dems were planning this, I thought the Bush campaign should exploit this breech of agreement by taking the dems own clip and before each Bush expression, play two clips of Kerry - one saying one thing, and the next contradicting what he just said - and then show Bush's expression - and then end with something simple like - "frustrating, isn't it?"
FLOP, this gets 0 traction.
I think President Bush comes across just like I feel: dumbfounded. And I applaud his display of genuine emotion.
Kerry and his party have been attacking the President for four straight years, and the stuff they say just baffles me. I feel for the President, having to go up against such a clueless and hairbrained opponent as Kerry.
Kerry looked good, but I don't think his comments will stand up--IF the media does its job. He made mistakes (Moscow, Treblinka, for instance), lied (we are suffering 90% of the casualties in Iraq and a lot more...) and flip-flopped (we need global participation; how can Bush dare not continue bi-lateral talks with North Korea and instead make it an multi-Asian effort).
The president's worse problem is that he did not seize on Kerry's specific mistakes, lies and flip flops he made just last night alone.

I actually view this as a positive for Bush. The only ones who will lap this up already drank the dimbulb koolaid and dribbled it on thier shirts years ago. Joe sixpack will watch this and conclude, "Well shoot, I woulda done gone over there and smacked that boy silly, all Bush did was make faces."
Actually, this is the DNC, not the Kerry Kampaign. BC '04 can't use the footage, but the RNC can.

algore broke the rules last time by directing questions (more like demands) directly to then-Governor Bush.
The Democrats simply believe that rules don't apply to them. The ONLY time rules matter to them is in holding their enemies to them.
Double-standard IS their standard.
Those who are not accountable should not be allowed to hold others accountable, but they know the MSM that effectively controls the masses will give them cover in setting the priorities in their minds of the lemmings for them.
The current question is whether the New Media has gained sufficient voice to break this status quo. Given how much like a frightened rabbit Terry McAuliffe has looked recently, I'd say he's fearing the worm may have turned.
Might as well expect Islamists to honor agreements as the DNC.
He did, didn't he! I watched the debate on C-Span which used split screens all night. I kept wondering how the president kept from just reaching over and decking Kerry. I considered it, but had to keep reminding myself that glass separated me from Kerry and he only APPEARED to be there. Grrr.
Make that TWO years. That's how long he has been a fulltime professional campaigner at tax payer expense.
Most all the looks I saw Bush give Kerry were of the "What the hell is he talking about?" or "What a loser!" look.
