And telling lies at every turn. However, Kerry is maintaining control. President Bush sounds like he has been backed into a corner and is hacking away for his life. He needs to slow down a bit, take a deep breath, and let it rip without sounding so irritated.

President Bush is now starting to defend himself a little better against the constant attacks, so let's hope this leads somewhere.

Kerry is probably winning on debating points, but you are right about the way in which he is coming off personally. He is the guy standing off on the sidelines second-guessing the person who is in the heat of battle making decisions and suffering the consequences. Kerry may energize his base with his performance, and he will tickle the liberal elites in the media; but he may very well turn off fair-minded American people.
