Get ready, folks. Stephanopoulos just said that the CBS and ABC instant polls say that Kerry won. That's what's going to come out of this debate, folks.
Bush could have put Kerry away tonight and, instead, we've got to hope Bush relaxes, is himself, and does better.
Bush has simply got to relax. He was overprepared, and was stumbling for talking points.
Karen Hughes needs to take him aside and tell him he sucked tonight.

Get ready, folks. Stephanopoulos just said that the CBS and ABC instant polls say that Kerry won. As was predicted days ago. They said the same thing about Gore in 2000. Instapolls are setup ahead of time with a few hundred people that agree to watch the debate and answer the questions, usually before the debate is even over.

Yes, the ABC instant poll viewers gave the debate to Kerry. But it didn't change any of their votes. Among them, Bush went in with a 4 pt lead. Afterwards, he still led by 4 pts.

I don't know what debate you watched.
Bush spoke from the heart, to the heartland.
And Kerry just promoted the UN.
Bush won, plain and simple.

I guess that you didn't read that the DNC had sent out emails giving out all the email addresses of the media and online polls, instructing their people to respond within minutes of the debate so that Kerry could claim victory.

I don't want to say too much about this debate. I want to watch it again, since I heard part of it on the radio, part on TV, and missed a bit entirely. My initial reaction would mirror yours, except I would be more caustic. The silver lining is I thought Bush lost the first debate to Gore quite handily, and was wrong. Thus I suck as a leading indicator of what folks think. But I am worried. But beyond the main points, simply didn't show a relaxed command of his case. Beyond conclusions, he didn't have a lost of detail. But then some say that is a mistake in a debate.
Thank heavens Kerry was so damanged coming in, is my first thought.
