Thank you Chris.

And by the way, why do many of the doom-n-gloomers on this thread have names that this Free Republic veteran of six years have never seen before?

Could Moby be at work here?

We haven't been able to watch, and are having some very annoying computer problems at the moment. I trust your judgement. How's it going?

OK, doom and gloomers, who is going to change his/her mind just because of a debate? The President has a track record which is consistent. It's a clear record. Kerry has no clear position and no track record of leadership to give him credibility as someone who can accomplish difficult tasks.

I don't know why so many are thinking voters would toss aside all reality just because the President is not a super debater.

It reminds me of the election night in 2000 after Gore took his concession back. I couldn't even post on FR for a few days I was so demoralized, so I swore I would never be that way again. It is only one debate and a less than stellar performance isn't going to sway me to gloom and doom. There are 2 more to go and Bush will hit his stride. He is a planiloquent speaker like Truman was and he connects more than kerry with the voters.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

Trying hard to be non-partisan here, at best for Kerry, this debate is a wash. Kerry needs much more than a wash. Bush doesn't need to deliver red-meat attacks. He already has the votes of the people that would eat that up.

GREAT POINT! I was wondering about that.

But you know what? They can make us feel down or worried or whatever...

But it doesn't change how I feel about this President, and how I KNOW a lot of non-freepers feel about him, and getting a few dozen freepers bummed out on a debate thread... well... it's a long way to November. :)

It won't change a darn thing, in the end.

If anything, it will make Republicans even more likely to get out and vote.
