So Kerry calls Bush a liar. That just makes Kerry look silly and stupid. Why should Bush get angry and lose his cool? I think Kerry needs to make MORE statements like that. It hurts him.

I came in in the middle, first on radio where it sounded like Kerry was 'winning', then on TV where I think W had a
very slight edge.
I neither heard nor saw the particular exchange, but I'm not sure it was a mistake not to reply to a bald accusation of lying. Too many people regard defending oneself against accusations is 'defensiveness' which (thanks to the popularization of psychotheraputic culture) they regard as a bad thing.
