George W(ashington) Bush labored under a constraint that Kerry does not have.
Truth was the first casualty and Kerry skewered it with his first answer.
Volley Forge? Yes, but more next time. He should listen to you and fight more like me.
MSN Poll needs freeping bad!!
Thanks for not sending me hate filled, Nazi like messages, for stating an honest opinion. LOL.
Next time I'll put honesty into the back seat, and I'll say he looked great, and drove the debate right into the winning circle of victory. Avoid all those holding knifes, looking to kill honest opinion.
The fact that the MSM is actually spinning for Kerry suggests that kerry is in desperate need for all the help he can get.
Even the MSM has no confidence in the kerry spin doctors.
This is similar to the slooooooooow reporting of the post convention kerry non-bounce.
I still believe KERRY'S PLAN TO GET THE FRENCH INVOLVED IS TO USE BRIBARY!
Tonight we have a clear choice, the French Fop or the stead fast principled cowboy..
You only show up to say negative things. Your opinion is no more valid than anyone else's, and in fact I would say less, since I have never seen you post anything remotely resembling approval for anything the President does.
Call Karl Rove. I am sure you can give him some tips, since you are such an expert.
"Easy for you to say. (ha)"
No, I was a nervous wreck at first too. Then I calmed down. If you know how a book is going to end, then the plot twists shouldn't matter. I strongly believe we are looking at a Bush victory on November 2nd. This debate won't sway many. IF Kerry gets a bump, it may mean some of strongly Gore states leaning away from him may move back. President Bush will hold his own states and grab some more - and win.
This is all deja vu. I remember following the commentary after the first Gore-Bush debate and feeling the same ambivalence from the commentators: Bush lost, Bush won, they tied. In the end, it's the people's votes that count. Put the spinmeisters and pundits on mute. Pray and believe.
Oh? And how do you fight?
Did you watch it as well or are going by my statements. The world has surely gone topsy turvey tonight.
The more I sit here and reflect, the more my opinion shifts in the direction of thinking that Bush did a good job. Sure, Kerry was smooth, but not memorable. Bush was a bit defensive . . . probably playing defense on purpose . . . but his lines are memorable. He spoke from his heart, and he spoke often directly to the people, and he had a good closing. And I can remember what he said. Kerry's words are all becoming a blur. He did not "connect" on that level. Bush did.
Actually I was expecting that from Kerry and didn't see it in this debate. Bush IMO came off as distracted and tired. I think I'm looking at this pretty objectively.
FR is running as slow as molasses this evening. I know the Freepathon isn't until next week, but please all, especially newbies, help support the cause. I can't bear the thought of FR crashing on Election night!
BTW has anyone else noticed taht the new kerry commerical using Bush's fact photoshops more wrinkles into the face of George Bush?
Are they trying to say Bush does not use enough botox?
Yes, I was disappointed only because I wanted W to deliver a knockout blow against the phony Senator from Paris and W did not marshall all his resources in the cause tonight.
Here is my take, fwiw:
1. Kerry is a better debater than Bush
2. Bush is a better LEADER than Kerry.
3. Kerry probably narrowly won tonight's DEBATE.
4. Bush will narrowly win the November 2nd ELECTION.
I know all of us wanted W to "Kick some Ass" tonight and it unfortunately didnt happen.
But tomorrow, when all the fact-checkers start to tally up all the distortions and outright factual lies in Kerry's barrage of verbiage, the tide may start to turn back.
Tonight unfortunately kept Kerry in the game for a little while instead of dispatching him to the showers. But W just needs to hone his message for next week, now that we know pretty much what the Kerry debate strategy is.
I tell the truth and ignore the PC rules. Gee, maybe I could be President some day! LOL!
LOL. Stupid old man. My offer to you stands.
here is my take;
I thought the President did well, and tried very hard to hold his temper, with all the lies Skerry was telling.
Where is he getting TWO new divisions? The military is taking on all who would volunteer now. Only a draft would add two new divisions.
If the on line polls are any indication, forceful won the night. However, if these same people had tuned in to CNN to hear their commentator list at least six instances in which Kerry lied and then listened to Tommy Franks tell what obstacles he had to overcome in Iraq, the President's truthfulness would have reigned supreme.
