“[W]e spend over two times on education already, what we spend on defense.” 6/30/04

"Furthermore, the federal government spends fully 14 times less on education than we do on defense."

Rush’s statement was that “WE” (obviously meaning the taxpayers) spend more on education than on defense, which is true. Notice in the response, he qualifies the statement by saying that the ‘federal government’ spends more on defense than education. Yes, more FEDERAL dollars go towards defense, while schools are funded primarily from local taxes, but the bottom line is that ultimately ALL of the money comes from you and I, the taxpayers. Rush’s statement is correct. WE spend more on education than defense. Lefties always try to differentiate between federal, state, and local revenues, as if all the money coming from a different source.
