This article contains some of the best GOP responses to the RATS voter intimidation and supression claims I have ever heard. Its about time they started saying this stuff. Now they just need to keep repeating it, louder, and on more media outlets.

What about elderly white women? Are they going to be afraid too? Do they not see how bad they make themselves look when they say things like this or am I being way too insensitive?

The computers really terrify me. The electronic voting -- the new machines -- I think it will turn off a segment in my community, particularly the elderly. We are not as technically savvy, and we are afraid of machines like that, and they (African-Americans) probably won't go [to the polls] and they probably won't ask for assistance, said Bland, who spent the last week in Florida.

GEEEZ, how long will the Black community continue to follow poeple that perpetuate the racist view that Blacks are "child-like" How pathetic and insane.

""I think it's insulting to imply that African-Americans are unable to comprehend or assimilate modern-day technology," Setmayer said."

I suppose blacks cannot use ATM machines, debit cards and credit cards at WalMart and Target either. Nor do they use the libraries which are mostly computerized now.

Are touchtone phones white only, or do the blacks still use rotary dials?

This is such bullshit. Blacks are the most racist of all. They don't even give there own kind credit.

I know a lot of blacks that would be deeply offended if someone suggested that they were too stupid to use "electronic" voting machines.

This is self serving dribble at best.

My question is; why do African American, so-called leaders, continue to denigrate their own race? Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton...this list is long and reads like a rogues gallery.

All this talk is just preparation for the eventual electoral defeat of John Kerry. The claim will again be that the election was stolen etc.

Heaven forbid if they have to make a purchase from one of those utterly terrifying soft drink machines at Wally World. Ohh the humanity! Old black people are dying of thirst and it's all Bush's fault.

Why do you have to be black to read this and be annoyed? I'm not black and I'm plenty annoyed by this "activist" tripe!

I don't get it - if you think voting is such a sacred right, why not spend a few minutes learning how to vote?

I'm amazed at all those who claim they were "disenfranchised" but never took it upon themselves to:

1) Look over the ballot - samples are printed in the local papers MONTHS before the election.

2) Ensure the county has them on the voting rolls, that they are properly registered to vote, that they have appropriate ID, etc. to exercise their right.

3) Contact Gore/Kerry campaign volunteers ahead of time to make sure they understand their right and the process.

4) Ask for help AT THE VOTING BOOTH from support staff if they are confused or want their ballot validated.

For all the fuss they make, they sure didn't take their rights seriously when it mattered most. I guess its easierr to whine afterwards than take steps to protect your rights.
