I think we should give this man and his family a break. Almost certainly none of us have ever been in a situation that this man currently finds himself in - probably nothing even close. Who knows with certainty how he or she would react? Sure, like everyone else I would like to think that I would heroically just tell the those cowardly pieces of **** to go "screw a goat" and have my head sawed off and be done with it. However, I don't really know what I would do. I don't think anyone here else does either.

I think honor lies in having understanding for others weaknesses but rising above those weaknessess in oneself.

But where does that end? Without shaming dishonorable acts, there is no honor. We are going to have to stop giving people breaks if we are going to win this. If we are going to finally prevail.

If there is shame in the alternative, it makes it easier for you to do the right thing.

Sometimes I think God should have put an "off" button inside every human being for when things just go off the scale in term of savagery commited against one's person. I don't know about other people but death doesn't particularly scare me. It is the pain to a lesser extent and the loss of control in particular that I think would be the most difficult to deal with.

Anyways, we should send our prayers to this man and his family.
