My problem with this plate is the obscenity inferred by the "F" on the plate. I'm not in Cal but in NY state and they don't allow such things on a plate and I agree with that. Coarseness in public is too rampant and as a society we need to start drawing the line. Yes, I would be upset if it was Kerrys name instead.
Currently I have a Euro-car of the 3-pointed-star variety, but you're correct that Volvos tend to be owned by socialists, the pointy-headed, or a combination of the two.
It was a great car, though.
If only a moron (with no lights on) hadn't pulled out in front of me on 12/5/03, I'd still have it.
That one may need someone to explain, unless his name is Frank Kerry.

NO DUBYA would be fine.
No need. After a few weeks no one will remember who Kerry is and you will be spending all your time trying to explain what the plates mean.
I agree. Obscenities on plates are........obscene. :-)
Jay Dubya - Jay Dubya is the writing name of John Wiessner, an extremely talented children's author. ... Jay Dubya lives in Hammonton, New Jersey. ...

maybe he was a disgruntled reader of childrens novels..
Funny.
Sheeeeesh.
Please keep us posted - I have faith in the California FReepers that there will be plenty of letters written regarding that jerk's license plate.
I once saw a CA plate that looked like this:
4niKtr
Let me know if you can't figure it out.
And the letter is going today.
I saw a van in our area the other day with a huge homemade sign across this back window that said "F**k Bush", and in much smaller letters on the bottom left it said "cause I'm not allowed to say kill".
Haven't seen it since, but if I do I'll get the plate information.....not that'll it do any good I guess. Since we live in liberal heaven up here on the coast you see just about everything, but this was probably the worst so far.
Done.
Brandon in Covina
Oh my! So the DMV people aren't very well versed in word puzzles and figuring them out. LOL!! Or *groan*. I can't figure out which!
"4niKtr. Let me know if you can't figure it out."
Think it stands for "fornicator"
They probably don't want to hear from a Texan. :)
Doug, I thought the plate was "F W" not "F Dubya."
Here is the Ontario vanity plate policy.
You may purchase a personalized plate for a passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle or motorcycle. Passenger and commercial plates may have two to eight characters. Motorcycles may have two to five characters.
Any combination of letters and numbers may be reserved provided the following has not occurred:
* the combination of letters/numbers you selected has been issued, or
* your plate choice has been rejected.
Once reserved, your plate must still pass a review committee, which may reject the plate if it is considered to be objectionable, for example:
* derogatory
* profane
* racist
* sexual
* religious.
I know they also check the proposed plate in a mirror because some look innocent when looking at them directly but suddenly take on a new meaning once seen in a rearview mirror.
