GOP challengers had better luck in Chaves County and then in Otero County, where GOP judges upheld their broader interpretation.
The secretary of state then took the matter to the Supreme Court, citing the need to have the law applied uniformly throughout the state.

Voter advocates say a late flood of new registrations will lead to a confusion and lost votes on Election Day. Election boards in Ohio's largest counties are getting nearly double the number of registration cards submitted in 2000.
The scramble is expected to intensify this wee, as the October 4 registration deadline nears. Election boards have hired extra staff members, extended working hours, or both, to process registration cards. Some boards are processing them 24 hours a day.
Dennis Lieberman, chairman of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County, says surveys show that the majority of new voters appear to be Democrats.

I help represent Republicans Abroad in Cambodia. One of my friends attended a Democrats Abroad voter registration function a couple weeks ago. He told me that forms were being filled out not only by Americans who were there but also for non-American friends/wives/girlfriends in attendance. The community is small and so I will hear if they actually recieve ballots. What can I do from my side to report this if this happens?

Virtually none of the forms sent out by the local clerks to the shady registrants have been responded to. The only plausible explanation for that is that the "voters" not only aren’t voters but aren’t real people, either.
Here’s the method to the New Voter Project madness. In Wisconsin, you can register to vote at the polls on Election Day. You have to produce identification when you register. But sending in a phony registration in advance puts you on the voter list before the election. Already-registered voters don’t have to show any identification. By putting perhaps thousands of fake names on the voter lists, it will be possible for fraudsters to show up at the polls and simply claim to be the person who was already "registered."

Several leaders of a Milwaukee voter operation known as "ACE" are in jail for submitting false absentee ballots in the race involving Milwaukee County Board Chair Lee Holloway.
The recording secretary of the Milwaukee County Democratic Party, Fidelis Omegbu, was also sentenced to jail for vote fraud.
A New York multimillionaire was caught on videotape bribing street bums with cigarettes to cast absentee ballots for Al Gore.
The list of left wing election cheating in this state just goes on and on.
Now, the New Voter Project is turning in thousands of dubious voter registration forms and the organization is run by a woman who has already been linked to election fraud. Bush better get 52 percent of the actual vote in Wisconsin because at least 2 percent of the Kerry vote is going to come from cheaters.
I'll keep us informed about what I hear in Houston, Texas harris county.
