China wants to control Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and maybe Japan. THey want to extend their control through the Pacific Rim.
They have Hong Kong. There are nearly 1000 medium range missiles opposite Taiwan. They threaten the Spratly Islands weekly. It is to their interest to encourage the Islamists against us.
I think they are fighting a long term game and we should not trust them. They would prefer to squeeze us without a shot.
