I signed up in 1996. I saw a thread recently describing how to get that number. I couldn't make it work.

When you go to your page (by clicking on your name under the post) there are several options in the header. One of them is to list your comments "In Forum". When you click on "In Forum" and your comments are shown, if you look in the address box in Internet Explorer it shows a line that ends "id=xxxx". The "xxxx" is your id number.
