I live in TX. I grew up just below the caprock - a long way from the border. We had mexicans come up to pick cotton. Now, about half the names in that small town are hispanic.

I worked with a woman in Houston. She was born here, but considered herself a mexican. She said they would take it back - TX was theirs - that was over 10 years ago.

Some idiot called this show last night -- Terry something was the show, never heard it before, anyway, this guy calls in and goes into this long thing about how President Polk stole California to Texas from the Mexicans and it's really theirs, yada, yada... finally the host got mad and hung up on this guy, but many callers then called and reminded everyone that we PAID for the land and if the US hadn't laid claim to it that it could have gone to any number of other European countries trying to get it and not willing to pay for the land (Russia, Spain, Portugal, etc.)...

You know what, if Vincente Fox want's a fight, I say go for it, but do what we have to do to take back our country. We have a proposition here in Arizona to start the process and they said Californian's are trying to bring back Prop 187 again...

What really, really ticked me off was the part of the program on Maticular cards and banks encouraging them. They said we need to know our banks and only bank with the ones who are not pushing these cards... for example Bank One here in Arizona is very into these immigrants and one person called and said she had worked there and one of the managers held an entire meeting in Spanish... most of the participants didn't speak Spanis and asked him to give it in English (this is the USA afterall) and he refused even though he speaks excellent English -- so they called Corporate to complain and received: if you don't like it learn to speak Spanish, we won't require him to hold meetings in English....
