Technically, an Airman is the lower ranks in the Air Force. Below NCO's and Officers. In the Air Force you are a Pilot.

No, the rank Airman is for the lower enlisteds; Airman Basic, Airman, Airman First Class, Senior Airman, but all USAF members are airmen like Army members are soldiers and Navy member are sailors.
