Chris Matthews announces that their group decided the week went narrowly to Kerry (we aren't graced with their reasoning but I'll guess that it is based on Kerry finally presenting a tough front on Iraq by media lights).

Also the majority by 7/5 (not sure who participated) anticipate Kerry winning the debate Thursday night.

Mauro says Kerry should do more of what Bush does, state his positions

That explains why they decided on three debates - two would not be long enough.

PADDOCK LAKE -- A man wearing women's clothing and sitting in a parked pickup truck was apprehended Friday on the route for President Bush's motorcade, authorities said.

Police said a spectator hoping to catch a glimpse of the president tipped them off after noticing the man.

Officers found the 57-year-old man was wearing women's clothes and had a loaded gun and knife in his vehicle.

Juan is desperately anti-Bush, but I must say that Mara is a great panel member who adds insight into the discussion. I especially liked her comment that Kerry must do as well with the women as Bush does with the men -- "and so far he isn't doing it."

Juan in his brief attempt to sound informed made the comment that Kerry will be making his debate appeal to single, politically uninvolved women. This may be true but is a silly notion for reasons explained elsewhere on this thread. (Political debates are even less engaging than reruns of "Friends."

Today Kristol seemed to clinch his jaw when Juan went on his weekly tantrum. He can barely stand Juan anymore.

I did the same thing, but took it one step further. I substituted reading FR instead of the morning paper, and I read the Sunday morning talk show thread instead of watching them. I just sip my coffee in front of the computer screen instead of the TV screen now! LOL

Sorry about that!

I don't get the Chrissy show in my area. I relied on his web site (from late last night) for the lineup. Must be to cheap to hire a competent web master!

Did anyone see Andrew Sullivan attack the Swifties last night?

Probably ;-). Andrew Sullivan holds that the SBVfT are a direct part of the Bush campaign.

The Bush campaign and its supporters defend themselves as follows. Kerry brought up Vietnam at his convention, they say, thereby legitimizing the attack on his war service. But the book that is at the center of the charges was written months ago, and published by the right-wing house, Regnery. It was hyped by the Drudge Report and mentioned darkly by conservative pundits during the Democratic convention. In other words, this was planned months ago, as soon as it was clear Kerry would be the nominee. The Bushies also say that the ads by the anti-Kerry vets were not coordinated with their campaign. But the lawyer for the group also happens to be a key lawyer for the Bush campaign, and he was forced to resign last week. The bulk of the money came from an old and close friend of Karl Rove, Bush's chief political strategist, and a trustee of former president Bush's presidential library. The "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth," in other words, is as connected to the Bush campaign as the mafia is to the waste disposal industry in New Jersey. It's a front by any other name.

"How the hell Biden got away with saying that JFnKerry's Dec. 2003 remarks and his anti-war comments from yesterday are "completely consistent" is astounding. "

You're right - there should have been clips to show the difference. I know I'm biased, but I do feel the left get away with saying things and all I can do is yell at my screen.

I would hope that Brit would have countered !!

Another gripe is -- the lefties get talked with asked questions of - while the right get "grilled" "hammered" "nailed" - MSM words, not mine, but it is true!

They also thought Gore would clean up in each debate. Remember, some even thought afterwards that he had won them. They're deluded.

Me too! If I read something on here saying "don't miss this", then I tune in the shows.

Most weeks, I skip the shows.

Wallace did show the two clips directly. Biden looked like a fool trying to insist they were consistent. He substituted volume and stridency for logic and truth. It did not come over well for Kerry at all.

I was just reporting what they said. I am certainly not silly enough to think they were close to being correct.
