I LOVE VDH...read his book Ripples of Battle...couldn't put it down!
A wonderful article evidencing concise research.
A wonderful image!
Saving...
Acidic and to the point.
Go, Dan, go. Now.
Victor Davis Hanson is a national treasure. I have found few historians in my life that are both erudite AND entertaining. His humor is not forced, but merely the trenchant observations of a sane man in an insane milieu.
Libs are such frauds and we have put up with them for far too long.
Huh?
Otherwise, very good.
That describes pretty much all liberals. Very good article.
"So, Dan, go, and let us have done with you in the name of God, go now."
Let's get out the vote and make sure when Dan goes, he takes with him as many of his Liberal buddies as possible.
VDH at his best ~ Bump!
Excellent.
I love this collection of VDH gems:
..."... smug, huffy, self-righteous...powdered and wigged aristocrats on their way to the Guillotine, yelling out of their carriages at pitchfork-carrying peasants."...
Great post. The one quibble I have is his criticism of CBS's "experts". The typewriter guy (described by Mark Steyn, I think, as a 'Cliff Claven type') really was a sad excuse for an expert. But some of the other experts advised CBS that the documents they reviewed were forgeries and advised the network not to proceed with the story. That's the outrageous aspect of the "CBS was duped" defense. They were not duped at all. They shopped for authentication by not allowing an individual expert to see the entire document package -- then they ignored the warnings that issued even from the limited review CBS permitted (even going so far as to misrepresent their experts' opinions!).
Absoultely masterful.
He is a Fellow at Hillsdale College. That is a unique institution where one is free to think and speak. They don't take government funds that would tie their hands in governing the school.
VDH leaves no stone unturned in his unmasking of the Dem propaganda machine.
In short, he has sliced, diced and julienne'd the Dems more thoroughly than ANY Ronco product ever could.
I've been mulling over a question that I can't seem to come up with a satisfactory answer for, and was hoping you could help. Actually, anyone reading this....I would welcome/entertain any ideas.....
Even though they don't control content, why are the owners of media....you know, the greedy capitalists, allowing their ships to sink? It's obvious that they're losing share, due primarily to their reporter's sickening - to me (haven't watched in years!)- bias.
This point, that the owners/businesses are by nature profit oriented, is often raised by libs to refute the notion of liberal bias. Indeed, they regularly make this observation to assert that there is a conservative bias!
Somehow, the notion(s) of stupidity &/or conspiracy don't seem satisfactory....I think I'm looking for "the general systems theory" that would explain this. Thanks! FRegards, john
Worse than that is the way the story is disappearing now on the old media. The old media begrudgingly applauded the internet, like tapping a nice young puppy on its head, and now they have sent the puppy out to the yard......... and the old media are ignoring the story.
That's worse.
