I have friends who went to W.Va. and are coming down I-95 right now to get back home to Orlando and they are in Savannah right now! I have been telling them what the news says here as they are unable to get any news on the radio where they are and had no clue how bad it will be or even what time. They were shocked.

Four hours from Savannah to here. Tell 'em to step on it. Either that or go to Atlanta/Columbia.

Here's more: in the interest of public safety and news, this is an excerpt from Joe Bastardi's column on the Accuweather pro site today:

"[Jeanne's pressure is] going lower and disaster may be looming I think for Florida, with a 940 or lower storm possible at landfall tonight near Melbourne around 3 am, Jeane being the biggest and strongest of the 4 [hurricane to hit the state this year]. I pray I am wrong, given the implications."

"The big story though is Jeanne, which has a chance to pull a Hugo deepening on its way into Florida and be the meanest of a season that is as unforgiving as they come."
