Fort Worth Star Telegram says we made mistake

Says this story not true::::During a single phone conversation with Lockhart, Burkett told the Telegram that he suggested a "couple of concepts on what I thought (Kerry) had to do" to beat Bush.

Story Continues Below

In return, he said, Lockhart tried to "convince me as to why I should give them the documents." Lockhart has staunchly denied that he ever discussed the forged documents with Burkett, though he confirmed that a conversation had indeed taken place in a call arranged by "60 Minutes" producer Mary Mapes.

CBS source denies plotting with Kerry

By Jack Douglas Jr.

Star-Telegram Staff Writer

This article has been corrected from the version published in the newspaper and online Friday morning to reflect that Bill Burkett was referring to conversations with CBS when he said, "They tried to convince me as to why I should give them the documents." The earlier version incorrectly reported that he had discussed the documents with Joe Lockhart of the Kerry campaign.

The lawyer is a RAT operative. I suspect that is why he is the "former lawyer".

I think burkette DID say this, but that the MSM took it wrong....they think he was saying Lockhart was trying to get him to turn the memos over to him, Lockhart.. I think Burkette was saying LOCKHART was trying to get him Burkette to turn the memos over to CBS, which is WORSE if you ask me....so naturally today Burkettes lawyer can say he didnt say that " turn over to Lockhart"... he was to me, actually saying Lockhart was trying to convince him to turn the memos over to CBS....CLEARLY the reason the CBS producer woman got Lockhart to call, and which they are ALL LYING ABOUT.. I bet if Burkette were asked it this way, that Lockhart was trying to get him to turn them over to CBS, he would say YES...
already you can see the MSM SPIN on this...

To me I think its a ridiculous idea to think that Burkett and Lockhart didnt discuss anything about these documents. So what "advice" did Burkett give then? I think Burkett would have gave anything to hurt bush badly with this. He sure as hell wouldnt hold it back from the kerry campaign. Thats my word

Which story isn't true.

The part I don't understand is why is it a big deal even if Lockheart asked for the docs.(other than because he said he didn't) 60 mins already had them. It would make sense for the Kerry campaign to see what was going on. Bush had already seen the docs.

His former attorney (Gail something or other), who isn't Van Os (who represented him this whole CBS time).
So, I don't know what this is about.
I watched the segment, as well.
The guy stopped being his attorney last Wednesday, so I am unsure how he can make these statement today if he isn't representing Burkett.

Van Os is the RAT nominee for place 9 on the Texas Supreme Court.

Here is the opening sentence in the story, "The source of a discredited CBS News report said Thursday that he did not coordinate the release of disputed documents with John Kerry's campaign."

Is the paper saying that this statement is false? That instead, Mr. Burkett DID coordinate the release of the Killian memos with the Kerry campaign?

No, the White House didn't get copies until the morning of the CBS report (according to the spokesman who was interviewed, his name escapes me).

no, when he called Lockhart, 60 mins hadnt gotten the memos yet...that was one of the things Burkette asked for, a call from the DNP, before he would turn the memos over...the second that CBS have them 'authenticated' when of course he already knew they were fake..

Well look guys - In My Humble Opinion - the democrats and the Kerry campaign were in on this form the start. How else can you explain the rich robber from Global Crossing starting the sugarcoat word several hours before the 60 minutes story. There was interaction between CBS and Kerry and the DNC, In My Humble Opinion, As there is now with other left-wing "Main Stench" media.
