I agree. I had high hopes for him but he has proven himself to be a completely incompetent candidate. He has no political sense.

Exactly. Keyes's main problem is his faith. He has no idea how to control it from a political standpoint. Bush is almost cuddly about his religion, you get the feeling that it really aspires him a be a good, compassionate person. Keyes, in comparison, just comes out looking like a fanatical psychopath. When a Republican is running for a Senate seat, you don't insult the Republican Vice President's daughter because you feel what she's doing is a sin. Great way to make sure you get NO votes. Keyes is an abysmal failure, and a danger to the party.

Keyes didn't hand the state over to the democrats, the Ryan twins did that.

I really don't know why Keyes is running in this race, it really makes him look like he has an ego problem. But the GOP would be absolutely nuts to let a senate seat go without even a token fight. Unfortunately, that seems to be the only fight they are going to put up. Keyes was an afterthought, the "Who cares?" candidate from the GOP.

The problem isn't that Keyes is a nut, it is just that he is wrong for the state and the situation. He should have known that better than anyone.

At least when the dems pulled this trick with Lautenberg and Mondale, their efforts weren't completely laughable.

The stupid party, indeed.
