Hello
I'm a photographer from London, Uk. I shall be taking a trip to Texas in a couple of weeks, spending a month documenting the forthcoming elections, to form a substantial body of work from to take to (UK) press.
Whilst I shall be crossing the state to gain an overall insight; I intend to focus the assignment mainly in Crawford; more particularly, to focus upon the Democrat challenge in 'Bush country'.
I was wondering if anyone could put me in touch with an openly/actively Democratic group / person /family within the Crawford area, or a as near to Crawford as possible, to get this project underway.
If so please email me: Crawford@JamesBallPhotography.co.uk [Crawford(AT)JamesBallPhotography.co.uk]
And please check my website/email me if you'd like more details....
Thanks for your time
Kindest regards
James

Is it just me, or does it seem of late that there have been some oddball requests lately...."Help me with my nuclear reactor project"...."Pictures of Crawford, Tx"...
Hmmmmm....maybe I'm being too suspicious....
Just hang around the local welfare office, plaintiffs' lawyers' office, and/or adult probation/parole office. You are bound to find Democrats there.
Hey Texas. You got room for a nice foreigner from Britain who wants to see the real deal?
He can get in touch with the Crawford Peace House there in Crawford. They hold anti Bush demostrations etc and even had the showing of MM's Fahrenheit 9/11 which MM backed out of coming to.... They are connected to the Dallas Peace Center.....

James, I cain't hep ya find no Democrats right there in Crawford, but you might try and look up a bull seller over in Baird by the naame of Bill Burkett. You can probly get his number from the folks at Kinko's. If not, try Joe Lockhart or CBS. They'll know how to get ahold of him.
Whilst you're at it, You could cover some football for the folks back in England. Maybe the UT Longhorns will scrimage a bunch of six year olds. It would be as competitive as the election will be, I betcha.
...but don't look into her eyes or you will turn to stone!
Well, there used to be some folks over in Hunstville, but they're gone now.
"Shall we give him some addresses whilst we laugh?"
Not a fan of the "Toward More Picturesque Speech" feature in Reader's Digest, are you?
Come on guys. Be nice.
This Brit is coming all the way over here in search of some political theater. And spending hard cash.
There's some sort of loonie leftie group (Texans for Peace?) that has a house in Crawford.
But it'd be better to start a tour in Elgin. Meyers (beef sausage) and Southside Market (pork sausage). Then Austin for The Iron Works (beef ribs) & The County Line (Prime rib & pork ribs). Then Driftwood for The Salt Lick >BYOB, dry County< (Family style). Then to Cedar Park for Smokey Moes (Fully stuffed potato, everything except pork ribs). Then up 1431 and take a Highland Lakes tour. See you at the True Grits Cafe here in Jonestown or the Bluebonnet Cafe in Inks Lake. Much better pictures and far more fun watching a few demented wanna be hippie veggies in Crawford.
Hope to see you soon!
Hmmmm..... Must be lunch time.
PS: I say "whilst" too.
We've gotten a lot more famous lately. Lots of people have recently learned that we know a lot, and know how to find out a lot more. Little wonder they've started coming to us for answers to their questions. CBS would have done well to bring its questions here . . .
Bill Burkett doesn't live too far from Crawford.
Why not ask the people in Waco who saw the Janet Reno debacle when she storm trooped innocent women and children
about the democrats?
Ask the Cuban America community in Miami, of what they think of Democrats, after Elian G.
OPs4 God Bless America!
"I intend to focus the assignment mainly in Crawford; more particularly, to focus upon the Democrat challenge in 'Bush country'. "
Mayber he should change his focus.
How about talking to some Republicans? His plan looks like a pretty one sided presentation to me.
What is he going to do, talk to two Democrats in Texas and make it sound, as if Texas and Crawford is full of anti-Bush activists?
We love to drive through Crawford when we are driving from Houston area to Lubbock. It is beautiful country. There is only one little cafe in town and we have never managed to catch it open. There are several nice souvineer shops where we buy patriotic gifts and shirts and cups with Bush on them. I don't think there is a hotel any where around Crawford. There is a post office where we mail our Crawford post cards with Pres. Bush on them.
I live in Midland and attend what-used-to-be Bush's non-denominational Bible study (CBS), which is held at a large Presb. church.
The group is (like Midland) largely made up of engineers, accountants, a good handful of lawyers and doctors, and then normal oil workers of different stripes, most of whom have a college education.
It is very normal, goes through a chapter of the Bible at a time, reads the plain language there, and, when opinions differ (e.g., predestination), gives the different viewpoints and each person makes up their own mind.
Well, a group of German reporters came out, found the two or three wackos in a group of 600 men, quoted people out of context, and made Bush look like he handled snakes . . . which is presumably the story they had written before leaving Germany.
NO. I don't read it. But I thought it would be funny if he got a tour with some good Texas Republicans!
