Re your post 21, I agree with everything but one state is definitely beyond reach: Maryland. Spiro Agnew and the current token Republican governor notwithstanding, that place is a Democratic stronghold beyond belief. Three reasons: Baltimore, and Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties.

The rest of the state is sane.

Bush and Kerry are currently in a dead heat 48% a piece in Maryland. 21% of blacks in MD are supporting Bush.

I would have to say that instinctively I would agree with you, but the numbers say Bush can take MD.
