Kerry Pulls Campaign Ads From Four States

WASHINGTON (AP) - Bowing to political realities, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry has canceled plans to begin broadcasting television commercials in Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana and the perennial battleground of Missouri.
The decision to shrink his political playing field reduces Kerry's strategic options - at least for now - in the homestretch of the campaign. George W. Bush won all four states in 2000, and Kerry can't win the White House without taking a state or two from the Republican incumbent.
While pulling back from some states that Bush carried, Kerry is still strongly competing in several GOP-leaning battlegrounds, including Ohio, Florida, Colorado and Nevada.
Ads were scheduled to begin airing Oct. 5 in Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri as part of a $5 million investment through Nov. 2, but campaign advisers concluded Kerry isn't doing well enough in the states to justify the cost.
The campaign, which has reserved commercial time in 20 states through Election Day, notified television stations in the four states that Kerry would not follow through on his plans for the first week of October.
Plans are still in place to air ads starting the second week of October, campaign officials said, but those will likely be tabled, too

Do not hate, my novice Freeper. It pulls you to the dark side. Love the victory thta will be ours.
Bush also has a chance to take a Gored state in Oregon.
Sadly, he has a lot of money from Soros to throw around. What are the rules for campaign ads to stop airing
"Hey dude, AZ is Bush country."
YES IT IS!!!!! :)
It may be an uphill battle. I'm one of the three Republicans in Multnomah County (Portland metro area}.
Dan, do what you can do to get that piece of stool state you live in to turn around. It's gotta be the inner city and the Islamists that are holding you up.
yeah but the deal is this, if he is forced to spend money in places he though were a lock and now we see they are not. He diverts his attention from states that are must haves for him.
Poll: Bush holds commanding lead among likely Colorado voters (Bush 51%, Kerry 39%)
"Bush also has a chance to take a Gored state in Oregon."
No doubt and I fully expect he will. I was merely ticking off the two most likely states and the ones that would add up to enough to offset a possible FL fall. I expect Oregon or New Mexico will also go W and either of them would offset the Colorado electoral vote manipulations.
hey. Right now it's looking real, real, good. Kerry's having to bet the ranch on FL even while knowing that alone won't do it. I love it.
I posted this in reference to the ideal way Bush is fighting the War on Terror. "On our terms; on their turf".
The saying is just as applicable to Bush's current position in the Presidential campaign!
I have to wonder if many of these polls aren't agenda-driven.
Kerry is now truly running the French campaign. Keep surrendering more territory, pull back and retreat and hope someone else (CBS?) rescues him from his mistakes.
French? Surrender? Surely you jest! ;)
Really? So what are the poll schmucks saying? Maybe Kerry should ignore his internal polls and the blatantly obvious, and instead watch Rasmussen's bouncing superball and Zogby's Islamofascist polls to take heart - and pour money into the states of wishful and/or statistically dumb thinking.
Kerry lost the Cajun vote when he claimed that he hunts deer by sneaking up to them crawling on his belly.
Dat man, he stupid, yeah!
BUMP
Darn, I failed to use the words "collaborate", "Vichy" and "Perrier" in my previous post. I apologize for the oversight.
"Hey dude, AZ is Bush country."
Now if we can just get rid of the gov. Hitlery clone and McCain here.
It's going to come town to turnout here, and ACT leaving is good for our side here. The dems were caught looking in 1990 and were almost caught looking in 2002. I think they think that they got it in the bag.
