Well, I guess forcing women to take a drug where the side-effects seem to outnumber the advantages (depo-provera) would be one solution. I'd be more inclined to have our military return to a policy of no women in combatant including support roles in combat zones, but that's just me.

Not having any children for the remainder of my wife's enlistment does sound like a reasonable solution for our particular situation. Fortunately the Navy isn't known for having a need to call up IRR so we could proceed right after she is separated from active duty, although it is possible. But what of women who are subject to involuntary recall after separation? Should they wait until the end of their IRR before continuing their lives? And what of a woman who elects to be career military? Has she forfeited a right to a family?

Has she forfeited a right to a family?

Is there such a right?

Why do you use the word forfeit? The choice is that persons decision. She could have become pregnant at 15 and "given up" the "right" to a college education. She/he, at the ripe age of 17, could have made any of a myriad of decisions which could have had dire consequences on "rights" and abilities later on in her/his life. I'm sorry, but we need to teach that choices have consequences. One may choose to serve their country. So serve it.
