There are striking similarities among the stroller-suiciders, the killers of the children at Beslan, and those lovely "religious" scum who pray as they cut off the heads of someone completely innocent because some state has not met their demands.Evil is as evil does.
Yes ... and you should think long and hard about this.
Suicide -- on its face -- is an irrational act. This is something into which a person is conditioned. You can argue that Islam has long been militant, bloody and even the source of our word for "assassin" (a practice which we now regard as lawful, by the way, thanks to just one of the Executive Branchs new post-9/11 powers). But I don't think you can argue that Muslims -- particularly today -- are uniformly "evil" or even "violent".
That's one reason I need to be posting some Claire Sterling and more Christopher Story (not to mention any of a slew of excerpts from my communism shelves) to school you rather than allow you and Dennis to continue in the utterly deluded belief that (1) I do not find ABSOLUTELY UNTENABLE ANY ACT OF TERROR COMMITTED BY ANY PARTY ON ANY ACCOUNT or (2) have any sympathy for Illumined Islam despite a very real respect for the singlehanded way the Muslims have refused to capitulate (except by force) to the strongarming, bribing and extorting by the US and UN where certain population control policies are concerned.
That's a very real thing, MarMema. I'd like to be able to jump up and down over the fact that I found a little wooden card table of pro-life literature in a dark corner of the VAST Cathedral of Christ our Savior in Moscow but the fact is that I saw more propaganda in that respect courtesy of the State on Metro cars which appeared to be a part of the push to try in vain to get women to breed with or without husbands.
I get in trouble all the time on the libertarian board for harping on abortion but I take a very dim view, sorry, of any faith or nation who pretends an interest in "the children" while offing over a million a year by dismemberment, scalding or a pair of scissors to the skull in the name of "women's health".
Things simply are NOT always what they seem and -- hope I don't step on your toes here, but -- it's those former Soviets still in power who are truly masters of the art of deception.
We agree on the important things. And know that I too probably would have no patience whatsoever for a CrimethINc sort like Rachel. Even so, I don't think she deserved to be bulldozed and whether or not she was at the service of those whose intentions were truly somehow malevolent, I don't think flag-burning is a capital offense.
I cannot tell you how sickening it is to see the bulldozer used over and over and over around here as some kind of humor graphic. There will be hell to pay for such egregious encouragement of brutal inhumanity ... however rightly condemned the unarmed innocent killed is judged to be by those a world away in the comfort of their homes hooked to 24-hour Feeds.
Surely -- as Christians who share in that same tradition wherein Abraham haggled with God himself over the good men he feared would be killed as part of obliterating the abomination that was Sodom -- we need keep our essential moral perspective regardless our political leanings or pet conspiracy theories.
Those people were no different than the ones making videos today while they behead people.
Don't ask me to have compassion for those who support and collect for terrorists.
Instead I recall the woman who was near the suicide bomber and missing an arm and lay there listening to her infant in a stroller scream from being burned. But she could not get up and go comfort her own child.
______________
A looong article describing a "sleeping" Soviet Ivan who after having played into the war on Isamic jihad to convince the West of it's resolve to help them while at the same time using the events of 9/11 and thereafter to rebuild the Soviet Empire. Hints that Beslan was "not an accident." Worth a good read. (A wise man once warned me about this . .)
_____________
"The Russians have always been master chess players, reminds Story, and they have been playing the terrorist gambit very successfully. "If the people of the West do not wake up soon to this fact, we will soon be in checkmate," he warns."
"
According to Soviet Analyst, the Russians did not merely seize an opportunity (the 9-11 attacks) that happened to coincide with their long-range objectives; Putin and associates actually planned and carried out the terrorist deed using assets connected to bin Laden in Chechnya. The publication, which, like Anatoliy Golitsyn, can boast an uncanny accuracy on major Russian developments unmatched by the media-anointed Russian experts, has pointed out a number of important facts that support this theory. Among them:
Land-locked Chechnya has long been one of the most completely controlled areas of the former Soviet Union, surrounded by Russia and Georgia, run by the faithful Communist Edward Shevardnadze. It is thus one of the safest venues to carry out a false Islamic revolt.
The huge Soviet strategic military base and air base at Mozdok near Ingushetia has been using Chechnya as a "live warfare" laboratory and training ground, preparing for further strategic warfare in the region.
The Chechen opposition has been completely controlled and compromised with false leadership, notably, with the likes of Djokhar Dudayev, a former Soviet air force general, accepted by Moscow as the representative voice of Chechen independence.
The Russian armed forces and security services repeatedly released their controlled Chechen opposition, or allowed them to escape, to carry out repeated provocations.
During the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, an estimated 50,000 young Afghan males were removed from Afghanistan and transferred to terrorist training camps in Chechnya, Tajikistan, and elsewhere to be filtered back in subsequent years as fighters in the ranks of the Taliban, al-Qaeda, and the Northern Alliance.
Utilizing its client regimes in Iran, Sudan, Iraq, and elsewhere in the Middle East, Russia has supported the "Islamic" terror network while making it appear that it is itself under assault from "Muslim extremists."
Glad we could agree on something. Peace.
This wouldn't surprise me in the least. Those people were no different than the ones making videos today while they behead people.
I'm not sure this follows. Again, I think you need to consider all manner of objective criteria when evaluating an event used to recalibrate the public's emotions ... particularly where the inciting of hate for "good cause" or dehumanizing of others is concerned.Don't ask me to have compassion for those who support and collect for terrorists. Was the event premeditated or planned?
Was the event timed to coincide with an election or in retribution (such as Sadat's assassination)?
How was the event publicized and by whom?
What telltale signs exists where the potential funding and/or training of the ops were concerned?I think if you err on the side of keeping a level head -- doing your weeping, recovering your balance and only then proceeding to pick apart the event -- you get much better and more reliable answers to these questions.
What, exactly, is your definition of "terror," MarMema?Instead I recall the woman who was near the suicide bomber and missing an arm and lay there listening to her infant in a stroller scream from being burned. But she could not get up and go comfort her own child.I don't expect ANYONE to sympathize with those who fund terrorists. But, on the other hand, I don't pick and choose among the terrorists I decry. I find all political murder -- even that now explicitly sanctioned by our government instead of occuring under cover of black ops -- immoral.
There's no defending such things. But again, I think it pays to analyze in a purely objective fashion who REALLY stands to gain from the perpetual conflict. Someone must -- and it sure ain't the Palestinians -- else it would not continue. And, as part of that analysis, it sure couldn't hurt to have a looksee at who among us has consistently advocated perpetual conflict and who among us has consistently repeated that "The Revolution makes no sense without Terror."
As a bonus, I'd also check into who has funded exactly these people -- whether it be Lenin's bars of gold or IMF protection payments.
Is Putin longing for the Soviet Union to resurrect?
Is Putin still an atheist?

What in the world makes you think someone who takes things so seriously as to study Golitsyn would clog up the Keywords with sophmoric bs bookmarks?
That's the work of the Regulars here who -- being mental pygmies content to slop at the trough of the Mainstream -- haven't exactly got jack with which to contest or discourse in depth or with anything approaching Substance the points GIJoel raised before he was untimely banned.
FR might as well stand for "Feelings Rock!!" since that's all anyone here goes by anymore.
North Korea to Cover Russian Debt by Supplying Free Labor - Aug 3, 2001
Why was GIJoel banned?
The Evil Empire he rules by fear and intimidation needs to be torn from limb to limb and shredded with him going into the shredder first! The pain and misery that he fronts for will finally be dealt with when Russia meets its doom on the mountains of Israel. A consuming fire will provide the world's largest barbeque for the beasts of the fields and fowls of the air; out of respect for buzzards they should leave them alone but Jehovah God has willed it otherwise!
Sharon loves Putin.
As I do myself; as a Christian; we must hate and despise what they do and what they stand for and let Jehovah God sort them out as he WILL DO! Sharon should be more careful in picking friends and fear Jehovah God "The Consuming Fire!"
... care to take a look at this one for me? maybe some others might want to comment on this as well. I don't have the list.
