Mapes told him there were some records "that might move the story forward. She didn't tell me what they said."
So Lockhart, hearing this, called Burkett. He called Burkett because she told him this. YET he now says he can't recall if he talked to Burkett about the very thing he called him about. He doesn't recall. He may have called him about the records and then just talked about other things, like the Texas Rangers, he can't recall. "I might have talked about what she told me to call him about, but I really don't recall. And I, a member of the Kerry campaihn, called him myself, but to say there is a link is baseless. A Link? That's beseless. I called him, yes. And we used the CBS footage in our ad against Bush, but a LINK? Baseless."

The "I don't recall" defense is along the same lines as what we call the S.A.D.D.I. ("soddy") defense. You know, "some other dude did it". Neither of the two have been anything but marginally successful as a defense in the criminal courts.
Though it did work for Clinton. Hmmmmm.....

Hilarious! Lockhart couldn't even get his first "modified limited hangout" story right. The reason that Mapes asked Lockhart to call Burkett had NOTHING to do with the actual content of the call he made, and he never ever discussed TANG records or documents of any sort with Burkett, they just chatted about the weather and mentioned to each other that Karl Rove is one tough dude.
Is the Demagogic Party full of idiots, or do they just think the rest of us are idiots? (yes and yes)
